BKLFox Posted 24 June Posted 24 June Collins along with Cartwright & Braybrooke would suit a Martin midfield in his 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 formations. Would certainly give us high energy in the middle, Cartwright the defensive pivot, ball recovery & recycling, Collins would dictate the rhythm, build from the back & provide late supporting runs into the box & Braybrooke will be the more advanced player working in tight congested areas providing line breaking balls into the box for runners.

Who plays the role of collecting the ball out from the keeper , dithering with indecision and playing it in panic to an opposition player who runs through and scores . Also who will slow any promising quick breaks until the oppo get 7 back behind the ball and end up turning the ball over with a hopeless hoof or passes back to the keeper ? 4
FoxinNotts Posted 24 June Posted 24 June Quite frankly, some of these 'rumours' are not actually that bad (puts on tin hat). In the shite position we find ourselves in, if we were to pick up; Okonkwo on a loan with an option as the keeper, Archie Collins for CM and Conor Chaplin as AM for free, that's a decent start to the rebuild of our spine tbh 3

I just think there must be better keepers 3

Let's face it, we WILL be getting in a more exciting striker (maybe two) than we've had last season! We literally could not have worse options than last season. Thats the one positive of this next season!!!! 1

I mean, you're probably right, but let's not get too excited yet, we've not signed any strikers so far. This is Rudkin's Leicester we're talking about 😬😱🙈 2

davieG Posted 25 June Posted 25 June Not twitter Mercs latest, Freebie City are one of four clubs who have ‘shown the most interest’ in free agent Archie Collins. Peterborough Today are reporting the Foxes, Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford United, and Championship outfit Portsmouth are all keen. The defensive midfielder has left Posh at the end of his contract having played 159 times since joining from Exeter City in 2023. He helped Exeter to promotion from League Two in 2022 before winning back to back EFL Trophies with Peterborough. As things stand City have Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Hamza Choudhury as front-line central midfielders, although that could change. Goals guarantee Conor Chaplin is one of the first players being ‘lined up’ by Leicester City. That’s according to Football League World who reckon the Foxes are keen on the attacking midfielder who has been promoted from both League One and the Championship with Ipswich Town. Indeed Chaplin won the Golden Boot as the Tractor Boys finished runners-up under Kieran McKenna in 2023, with 29 goals in all competitions. He then struck 13 more as the Suffolk side went straight through the Championship and into the Premier League. However, he spent last term on loan with his first club Portsmouth and had a subpar campaign, netting just twice in 40 matches. He returned to his parent club but is now a free agent following the end of his contract. The 29-year-old has 60 goal involvements, including 48 goals, in 141 League One games. Defender interest Torino are interested in Leicester City defender Ben Nelson. That’s according to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio who claims talks with the Foxes have already begun. However, he admits there is a ‘disagreement’ on the fee, and reckons City want between €6-7million for a player who has one year left on his current contract. Di Marzio says the Serie A outfit, who finished 12th in the table last season, won’t go that high and that an offer has not yet been made. Nelson made 24 Championship appearances last term, before falling out of favour with Gary Rowett towards the end of the season. He spent the campaign before that on loan with Oxford in the second tier. The left-sided centre back has been with City since the age of nine and has also had loans with Rochdale and Doncaster. What is

Absolutley no chance will that be a midfield partnership for a team who aims to dominate the league. Will be 2 CMs minimum signed this summer imo 2
