Zero chance Barnes goes for £25m. 4

Fox 4 Life Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 He is worth more than 25m to our promotion push, if we keep him we have a much better chance of going straight back up.

Problem we have is with so many leaving on frees we also need to boost our own transfer pot to rebuild the squad. Even £25m (and yes he's worth more than that) could be 4 new decent players at this level. We haven't got that many other saleable assets so selling Barnes could provide the cash needed to get someone like Doyle over the line. The longer we hold out the more likely our own targets move on, and Newcastle probably know this.

King power is now booming again. We still have a hefty wage bill but FFP aside,Top can manage that.

How big are the losses that need to be covered from the past three years ? ‘Booming’ might be a little early and as per the above, there will be stuff that needs to be covered ahead of us Wait to see what happens with Barnes to see how skint we are or not ( sorry Ashley) Edited 11 July 2023 by st albans fox 1

Though as I said before, There's a different dynamic behind the Club since the Accident. Who knows how much the new kp board are willing to allow top to spend.

Profits last year were $64m t/over was $800m admittedly this year should be better - 2019 was $2.9bn t/over and the company expects this year to be approx $2.3bn i think we’d need to wait to see how 2023 pans out profits wise before Forbes assessment that the family is worth $3.5bn is borne out. 1

Due to the pandemic, the losses for 2019-20 and 2020-21 are being combined and treated as one year with the total loss halved (£100million, halved to £50million). That £50million is added to the latest year’s £92.5million loss. To get a third year, the 2018-19 season is included — a loss of £20.3million. That means the loss for that period was £162.8million. Take away the COVID-19 allowable losses of £51million and already the club is much closer to the £105million losses allowed.
FrankieADZ Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 (edited) as Ive said, Hamer aint coming to Leicester, deluded to think he would imo Newly promoted prem team would be in for him..... Edited 11 July 2023 by FrankieADZ

Keeping the deals separate and stopping us potentially paying more to Norwich as part of their sell on clause. Coady and Winks combined are probably on less than Maddison was on salary wise as well. Deals over £30m for Barnes will be considered carefully I'd have though. £35m will probably do it. We've moved a few high earners off the books with Tielemans and Maddison gone and then the leavers on frees. Get deals for Barnes and Castange finalised and we should have banked enough to complete our rebuild and then only worry about one or two more being targeted, mainly Nacho.

Foxmeister Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Our squad, right now, this minute would be awesome in this league. We're £20+m up on transfer fees and £30+m a season has disappeared of our wage budget.

Hamer along with Borges are very much the two which I was hoping we could bring in as they would have been pretty much the main cog going forward. Hamer's industry and resilience is a feature of his play, Winks is going to be in the midfield and those two together would have given us a dynamite hard working and intelligent pairing. Without the sale of Barnes I have no idea what is left in the coffers, but if we are to lose Nacho, then could we bring in CDK, who I feel would be the final piece of the jigsaw in respect of our attack options?

I'd rather keep Barnes if its under 35m upfront myself
