Gave him personal credit for Fatawu. Given Enzo's preference to be a head coach and work with a DOF, I can't imagine him getting overly hands on with targets beyond we know he asked for Winks. Willing to bet Mads and Mavididi (say what you want but he was great in the Championship and cheap) probably also came out of his shop. 8

Not his fault we overpaid for Coady and Winks, and Winks was central to how Enzo wanted to play. This season, Skipp stands out as the stinker as well as Okoli given the amount of money spent. Suspect the former was a Cooper signing. 1

I just find his record with Everton and Southampton disturbing.... and the fact he has worked for Big Sam TWICE and on both occassions gone for 'lets help this agent out' signings... all a bit suss...
Ric Flair Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Sorry, ain't having Glover one bit. Where's he ever been successful at? Some of the clubs he's been at have plummeted massively an'all.
Popular Post CaliFOXnia Posted 27 January 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 January 2025 I’d rather sign no one than Oxlade Chamberlain. The absolute embodiment of the recruitment policies that got us in the position we’re in. 6
RowlattsFox Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Not sure why people are trying to convince themselves Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a good signing 3

While Yunus didn't settle, he's also gone onto have a strong season. Mavididi was very effective last season as well. Agree that the 22/23 Jan window was horrible but then didn't you also say Tete was a great signing at the time (and also how much influence did he have on that given Rodgers was in charge?). I think it's having a balanced look. I wouldn't go as far as not having him one bit, but it's been very mixed output so far. He seems to do better in getting young players with potential than more established players.

LVFox Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Not wholly sure where Ox would fit in to our system. Maybe left wing? No doubt he's a good player when fit, but that's a ridiculously rare occasion.

Willian looked decent last season, contract til the end of the season wouldn't be a bad idea. Never been a fan of Ox

JimJams Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Willian would be a great option off the bench for when Bilal tires.

I rate 3-4 of our signings whilst he's been here but I don't rate his track record as a whole both here and certainly not at other clubs. We don't know the finer workings but I don't see an obvious pattern in our recruitment strategy and there's leagues we continue to ignore. Possibly not his ultimate responsibility as he might be set parameters in which to do his work but overall I think he's more Congerton than Walsh or Macia. 1

No doubt, he doesn't hold a candle to Walsh or Macia yet and completely agree in exploring other leagues. Your point on parameters is important - he's had to work with different managers with different styles as Rudkin delegates this. If we had a strong DoF, I think he'd perform better. I still find it wild Congerton made it to Atalanta but then again, he got them Lookman having seen him up close here. Sorry, it's a just general trend in this social media era where someone is either crap or amazing when they're not either so trying to be more objective.
Lad1966 Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Depressing that we’re not even linked to anyone half decent! Just makes me think we have no money, even after the Cannon sale!
lcfcsnow Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Solskjær recently been appointed at Besiktas also, there's the connection with Ruud 😔
Tielemans63 Posted 27 January 2025 Posted 27 January 2025 Genuinely thought the Ox retired around 3 years ago
