Not having that, scored 2 goals and made many other chances. Looked good on the counter, could have scored more. 5 minutes was radiculous in the first place, to then add two extra minutes, after missing a hand ball on the goal build up and a clear red card (even if it's yellow for the push and yellow for jumping in crowd)! It's disgraceful reffing.

In 40 years of supporting this club I don't think I've ever felt this angry at a result and it's ruined one of the bast days of my life.

He played as one of 3 CB's

I think when we were in possession it was a back 4 but defending he certainly slotted in to a RCB.

I keep reading that Rodgers reverted to type tonight and we were back to passive football but I couldn't disagree more. This wasn't the football we saw at the back end of last season or for large spells of this season up to November.

 

The problem is we have zero ability to control games any longer, Rodgers was obsessed with this last season and we became quite turgid to watch but we seldom let leads slip. He's had to give that up this season and we've lost all ability to  yet we have pretty much throughout been potent enough going forward and tonight was no different. We played some good stuff but our shape is so bizarre off the ball. It really is basketball football at the minute, but I'd rather that thsn the turgid muck from August to Ocotber where results were no better.

 

Tonight was just another defensive horror show and some poor passing and positional play from certain  players in midfield too. Its very hard to stomach and injuries are no excuses, if anything its further indictment of just how unacceptable our continued injury problems are and whilst they persist I think this sort of football will carry on.

 

Long term, if Rodgers is still the man to lead us, he has to keep his squad fit, he has to learn from his mistakes on defending and attacking set pieces, he has to learn how to control games playing the football we are capable of, but mostly right now he has to demand a new defender and Vestergaard never ever play for us again. Hold his hands up to the board and admit him and the club have got it hugely wrong, but there's a duty from the club to right the wrongs there.

 

I so badly want Rodgers to sort this out, his ability to get us playing some incredible attacking football in patches cannot be underestimated, he still has the majority of these players believing in him so that's fine, harness it and sort out where this squad is heading. It needs reshaping, it needs a strong plan from our recruitment team and the sooner Lee Congerton is out and the club revert to the tried and tested methods of before, the better.

 

No time to wallow, get up and beat the most overrated team in the PL on Sunday please.

At 94'50" I thought we were on course to turn our season right round with a win and three points that despite Spurs attacking dominance, could be argued we deserved through sheer guts. 

 

To then lose it like that is simply devastating. Poor game management and total naivety from players who should know much better. I would have happily taken the draw on the balance of play. That defeat has blown any momentum we had started. It's mid table mediocrity at best. We did have a pick and mix line up at the back.  

 

On positive notes, great to see JJ back and, last 70 seconds aside, we did show some grit. I though Hamza tried hard again at the back and got stuck in.

These weak boys have had melt downs 3 seasons in a row. They really are soft both mentally and physically!

 

Should be seeing that game out but we’re still trying to score when we’re up in injury time. Naive weak players we have. We got bossed by 90’s style Italian tactics.

 

I hope it’s because it’s we’ve had many weeks off but I hope we don’t collapse like we did when we returned after a break in the first covid season.

how ****inbg stupid can you get pressing 7 off the kick off and leaving a 3 on 2

 

Thats where the team misses a vardy just to ****ing bar at them at the kick off just to take the point and smash it out of play for a few seconds

I just hope that we cashed in a debacle tonight and we aren't due it v forest now. 

 

I just want 16 points from somewhere, get the fck out of the season alive and concentrate on the 2 cups (1 of which is really winnable)
