Is it a post lockdown thing? Because stuff like that seems to be happening a lot more in the last few months - see Rotherham yesterday too.

Yeah I think so. I was at the euro final and it doesn't seem to have calmed down since then.

What an embarrassment that helmet was who ran on the pitch. Hope it's worth the lifetime ban. ****ing idiot.

I think it's a combination of the drug issue mentioned above and pent up frustration at lockdown and austerity measures that have basically ****ed over a lot of young people's chances. Reminds me of the kind of groups I often saw following football in Eastern Europe.

I know it's always been there in England but I can't remember it being this bad when I started watching football in the 90s. Maybe I'm being naive.

Deserves to go to court if he actually hit the forest player.

It's obviously the fault of the bloke who ran on, but I just saw a replay of it on BBC Sport Twitter and the nearest steward let the interloper brush past him, then walked over whilst punches were being thrown and only broke into a jog when the confrontation was occurring and when another steward was on hand.

Probably on duty at Wembley last summer, too.

I know it's a small majority but we haven't covered ourselfs in any glory today.

Smashing up a resurant/pub in town.

Chants about Clough being dead all day (classless and a bit bizarre he was an old man when he died! )

And a fan running onto the pitch to attack the forest players.

...and then get angry when we're treated like scum by the establishment with all their attendance regulations.

The hooligan fans of the past are responsible for the crap we have to endure today.

Every act like this will make the club think even harder about accepting Rail seating and fan groups initiatives.

Not trying to excuse the behaviour of that idiot but it really is time that players are told not to aggressively celebrate in front of opposition fans in highly charged atmospheres. We are seeing it more often and it does provoke some that struggle with self control. For example, was it a good idea for Jota to tell us to F off in the league Cup match? It invites bottle throwing as seen at Everton. I appreciate that Vardy has made a career of it but the time has come to put a cap on it. There is just no need for it.

I can't believe people cannot separate football from life. Proper weirdos.

Singing about a man dying because he managed a rival club? Pathetic. Same people would be crying if some fans started singing about Vichai.

As for the bloke running on the pitch, it effects everyone. Bad for our club and bad for us as travelling fans. Media will call us out, rightly so, and we've seen clubs have bans on away support before.

Is it younger lads desperate to create their own repeats of the 70's/80's?

They need to be stopped, all the great work to try and get safe standing introduced could be hindered. Football fans don't have room for maneuver.

Probably.

There were loads behind me today who were more interested in the Forest fans that actually watching the game.

Bang on. Trouble is the yoof today are too young to remember how horrid the 80s were. All they know is silly films.  I'm all up for passion and almighty away ends but just don't punch people and don't throw stuff. Simples really.

Taken from Facebook.

Absolute disgrace. Any comments we've made in the past about the Leeds fan who hit Chris Kirkland, or the Brum fan who hit Grealish apply here too. Should be locked up for assault and never set foot in a stadium again.

I'm upset to hear that trouble committed from so called fans was Leicester lot. However hope the rest of the country realise these idiots are not loyal regulars. More idiot morons that turn up for the Derby days to cause chaos. Every club as them and sadly we have to. All I can say let's hope the idiots of identified and locked up for a long time. I feel horrified to hear disrespectful chants against the late cloughee.

Very true. Went to a lot of games in the 70s. Never understood those wanting trouble. Fans have to accept disappointment as part of the game. Mob violence or as an individual should never be excused. The appalling behaviour lead to the authorities thinking we were all louts.

The lack of atmosphere transmits to the players. Laid back no aggression, couldn't care less attitude. Fine line between knobheadness and genuine love for the club these days.

We are a woke club

Woke literally doesn’t mean anything

Don't agree with this to be honest. If fans are able to dish out abuse to players then the players are more than justified to give some back. Just because some wet flannel wants to have a cry cause they can't take a bit of shit back then they have no place being at a football game.
