Wolves result wasn’t positive but the performance was much better. You need the referees to do their jobs and you need a bit of luck. The performances have definitely picked up since the West Ham second half." Did he genuinely manage to get a moan in first question or are these not in order?

What we’ve achieved is fantastic. Credit in the bank doesn't last. I don’t think there’s any there now. You need to get results. I don't get too emotional with words. We've had very important players missing. Over these last few weeks, playing Wolves and West Ham, seeing our performances, has been really pleasing, hopefully we’re on our way back to the level we’ve been accustomed to.” Yes the pressures on Brendan.

Ric Flair Posted 23 February 2022 Posted 23 February 2022 Hahahahaa I genuinely thought Schmeichel's comments were Rodgers until about half way through. Could be a turgid back 4 again, really hope we go 4-4-2 as there'll be minimum attacking impetus without Ricardo at RB 1

filbertway Posted 23 February 2022 Posted 23 February 2022 Kasper not towing the company line - expect him to be dropped “We’re not looking for excuses, it’s the same for any team. It’s about how you deal with it. We have struggled with our form, it hasn't been as consistent as we would want it. When you look in training, people are working hard. If the case was that people aren’t working hard, that’s when you have a problem.”

RowlattsFox Posted 23 February 2022 Posted 23 February 2022 Want Iheanacho to play but feel Daka needs to boost his confidence even though he has still managed a goal or two recently. Play them together. Midfield diamond, Soumare, Ndidi, Dewsbury Hall and Maddison. Albrighton at right back because we can't play a diamond with Amartey at right back

If l were a Randers supporter/player, and with no Wilf in there it has goals written all over it!
LCCFox96 Posted 23 February 2022 Posted 23 February 2022 I think we'll rotate in a few people but I wouldn't leave the likes of Tielemans and Maddison out altogether. I think Maddison, Ndidi, Lookman, Tielemans and one of Amartey/Soyuncu will all sit this out. Ward also likely to get a game. I'd expect a rotated first 11 with the bench being made up of a couple of youth players alongside the big men. I'd like to see one of the exciting attacking players from the academy like Alves or Mashawanise take a bench spot over and above having two goalkeepers as we did at Wolves. Ward Albrighton Soyuncu Vestergaard Thomas KDH Soumare Choudhury Perez Daka Iheanacho

They won’t have the fitness levels to continue running after 30 mins. I could play in the back line for the second half and we’d still qualify.

My son and I are supporters living in the south of Denmark and we are driving up tomorrow to see the match. this is a fantastic opportunity for him to see his first match. going to have to stay quiet though as we will be in with the home supporters 😩 2

It doesn't take a genius to work out that we can't afford to let Ricardo and Thomas (our only fit 'senior' full backs) get injured. Need to nurse these two through, until JJ is back. We have a 3 goal lead on Thursday. Perfect time to rest them. Flynn at LB or LWB and Amartey and/or Albrighton on the right hand side please Brendan
FoxinNotts Posted 23 February 2022 Posted 23 February 2022 (edited) I'd go with an experimental 3-5-2 (wingbacks) for this one; Schmeichel (cus he's Danish) Amartey - Nelson - Vestergaard (cus he's Danish) Albrighton - Soumare - Ndidi - K D H - Flynn Perez - Iheanacho Edited 23 February 2022 by FoxinNotts 1

Suppose it just highlights how many injuries we've had in defence that we aren't experiencing in central midfield where most of our talented youngsters are stacking up.

I thought Flynn (at least last season) was pretty decently rated? Although does seem to have dropped off a bit in terms of play time for the under 23s - I think he was injured at the start of the season though 1

He makes Luke Thomas look like Roberto Carlos going forward. He's a nonsense defender but he's not very quick nor skillful. 1

I think it reflects that at the highest level, physicality and athleticism generally out weighs skill most of the time. Unless you’re a messi, you have to build your body to be able to compete. Look at salah - he’s small but when he takes his top off, he looks like a body builder!

I don't think that's true at all, I think it's only perhaps the case when having to use young and unproven players. Thr likes of Flynn, VDC and Brunt might have made a few starts for us but in 2-3 years time they will very likely not be playing for a PL team but there will be players of their age playing for PL teams in their position that do have the skill and ability. For all Rodgers encouragement of academy players, he still leans on physicality over skill you're absolutely right in the 18-21 age groups. 1
