Forgetting worried fans expecting injuries from past nightmares...This is near our best selection, But to make it so those Front 3 have to be up for it from für Kick-off..!! We have five subs to make also, I am 100% certain that Brendan did not want wes’s first involvement post six months out to be a start in an away European second leg ….but he does have the option of playing wilf or hamza in the back four and bringing wes on after an hour.

We beat Liverpool with Amartey and Ndidi as CBs. Brendan had choices to make, he's rolled the dice and hopefully it pays off. 1

A huge call by Rodgers because essentially we will have to switch to 5 at the back and that allows Rennes to attack us for 30 or so minutes. I hope we can wrap it up in the first half but i'm a little concerned, Rodgers has either played a blinder here or he could well end up screwing us over. It would have been safer to start Ndidi at CB. You like to Plan your critic by covering all sides, by stating the Outcome in a fiddled 2 horse race... probably also ready to scapegoating the Rabbit from the Greyhound race..
moore_94 Posted 17 March 2022 Author Posted 17 March 2022 All of Rennes’ “ultra’s” are already in the stand behind the goal making some decent noise

Tuna Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 Can't wait to see Wesley Fofana wearing blue and on the pitch again for us, lovely stuff! 1
Jonezy Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 Not liking Little Wes starting. Hopefully we wont all sit here in a few hours bemoaning that decision. Still this game is massive to keep our season going for a bit, so lets do this! 1

This literally makes no sense at all. I've made one prediction which has a reasonable chance of being right. Fofana will not last the 90, he will have to come off at some point. Rodgers usually makes subs at the 60 minute mark so you imagine with his lack of fitness Fofana will be earmarked to go off at that point. If Vestergaard is the one that comes on theres a chance on past evidence that Rodgers will go to a back 5 to cover for Vestergaards lack of pace. Fofana could last the 90 and we'll sail through. Hamza could come on in his place of Vestergaard and either fill in at RB or CB. Ndidi could drop back with Hamza filling in midfield. As you can see I wasn't covering all sides at all. I was stating a concern that when Vestergaard has been brought on to see games out, its not gone well at all and there might be a higher chance of that today given the situation. 1

And that means we probably go 3 atb with Marc dropping in at rwb, JJ dropping into the back 3 (or wilf/hamza) and Ricky coming on for Luke if necessary Two keepers on the bench again, Brendan has it worked out A few starters on 3 games in 8 days. Perez for Albrighton? Thinking KDH off for Madders. Lookman for Barnes if still winning Leaving 2 flex subs for the defense
RonnieTodger Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 Glad Fofana is starting we’ve got **** all else to save him for 1

frakenfox Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 If you know Fofana isn't going to last 90, or more to the point want to be able to sub him after 10 if needs be then you do as BR has done - you start him... and cross your fingers. 1

Thats Why I said First choice...I know there is a Choice of 5... Yes I agree with your last words, better also in This case of playing Fofana in the First half, Too risky to bring him on if we are Chasing the game, or defending those last 15 minutes.. he s also Not being Chucked in..Reports of Returns & actually fact in Coaches & manager minds, when the Time is near will be sold differently

StriderHiryu Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 Proper walking wounded squad and line up this season. Fofana back, Soyuncu out. JJ and Riccy P essentially 2 people to play the same position because neither one can last the 90. If we play as well as we did last week we will go through but this make no mistake about it, this is a tough tie.
KingsX Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 Two edgy sets of fans going into this one. Though TBF, I get a greater sense of optimism in their pre-match thread than ours.
Foxes96 Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 In fairness Fofana has been back in first team training a few weeks now. And was supposed to play a week or so ago before getting Covid. Moreover, has supposedly played a behind doors friendly and got through that okay. So it’s not like he is being thrown back in way ahead of schedule. He has to start playing again at some point, and hopefully the club have learned from their lessons, and been cautious by making him wait before returning to action, Fofana himself had hinted he could’ve been back in 2021. That would’ve been madness. That said will likely come off at the hour mark, similarly JJ for Ricardo as well as we look to ease them all back in. 2

Very unprofessional and a let down for the club and fans. Not happy I'm guessing this is good old English sarcasm. If it's due to French rules it's the rule makers in France that have made them unavailable.
lgfualol Posted 17 March 2022 Posted 17 March 2022 Would have started Lookman but props for Albrighton if he can do another 90 mins. He's a good lad. 2
