They always seem to turn it on against us, Zaha in particular and you know Schlupp will score being an ex-player

Zaha is a temperamental, annoying , brattish footballer of the highest class. He could have joined the elite if he wasn't such a self- destructive twerp. He could turn us over very easily though. Nice test for JJ or Ricardo.

No motivation for league games at the minute, a mixture of the shocking atmosphere nowadays and can’t help but feel the league season is over in terms of European qualification.
Id love nothing more than to be wrong on the latter.

If Lookman doesn't start tomorrow and we haven't gone 2 up top as a result then it'll be a disgrace.

I think his last PL start was Wolves? I said that in the Randers home game not long before that, Rodgers was getting really pissy with him and Lookman was completely blanking him. Had a gut feeling after that it might be time up for Lookman. If he doesn't start tomorrow, in a game where Barnes really needs a rest and Perez is woeful, then he definitely won't be signed (probably :dunno:).

Maybe we’ve already got someone else sorted ???

if so, does ade raise his game to make himself noticed elsewhere or just drift through the rest of the season ?

Think this could be seriously drab. A half arsed B team against a tough opponent, with a cold, slightly righteous crowd with half an eye on Thursday and another on the 4.30pm game. Hope I'm wrong but this has 0-2 written all over it.

The reverse fixture against these was so odd. We never deserved to be 2-0 up, but it was frustrating how we threw our lead away and only just hung on in the end

Be nice to see us score some goals, things have started to turn a little dull in front of goal now that we don't have to fight back from 2 goal deficits as much these days.

Be careful what you wish for.

This is going to be a tough game. They have a lot of skill, pace and industry in midfield and down the flanks. I’d definitely start fofana and Justin for their athleticism. Cags or evans alongside Wes and riccardo/Timmy on the right. Midfield battle will be crucial. Mendy is a sure fire starter and you’d like to start KDH and youri to counter gallacher et al but they have played a lot of minutes as has Maddison. I think we will start strong and see rotation rather than tactical subs. Lookman should get a start tomorrow. Will be a very interesting battle. Can’t wait.

Only saving grace is its not at their place. They bullied Arsenal and played some great stuff the other night with the backing of a raucous crowd.

Need to turn up physically and defend well.

I think with the defensive options we now have that we could afford to be a little more expansive going forward, especially in the league as we at least have Mendy to deploy. I don't particularly like this 4-3-3 system, it doesn't suit Tielemans or Maddison either.

Maddison is borderline the best finisher from 20-25 yards out in the country but he's barely getting on the ball in those areas.

Still think we should be playing the diamond.

I don’t disagree but palace present a particular problem with their play down the flanks. Saha and ayew etc. And their intensity in midfield and pressing high through gallacher etc.  If we get too narrow we will be punished. Tough choices. I guess we just have to work very hard in transistion and make sure we win the second ball. It will be important as well to up our possession and pass better than we have of late.  It is good we are not at their place. It was like a cauldron against arsenal.

Im up for it no matter what!, and I think there is a lot to play for here as results today worked in our favour. I’ve been able to get to Brentford and PSV and will be at this but it might be the last game I can make this season as life takes over and I have to travel for work most weekends. Might be able to make the Everton game and the conference semi . Shame as my son is loving it right now, even though most people think it’s shi*e at the moment! I actually think it will be an interesting game.

Goals scored in the last 7 games:

Palace - 16

Us - 7

Goals conceded in the last 7 games:

Palace - 3

Us - 6

Form:

Palace - WDWWDWW

Us - WWLLWDD

This is a really difficult one to call with Palace coming off the back of a great 3-0 against Arsenal and ourselves coming away from the Draw again Manchester United which will hopefully have given us some confidence.

If we go with the usual plan of Nacho being isolated up top, we'll offer very little attacking threat to a recently sound Palace defence.

Palace have managed to score a fair amount of goals in their recent run of form, but this is far less of a worry than it would have been a few weeks ago now that we have some of our key defenders back.

Statistically, we're pretty well matched, but I think this will come down to which team wants it more on the day. We'll need all of our key game changers to turn up for this one.

Really wouldn't place a bet on this one.

Yeah it can be a formation that if you get wrong can leave you wide open but it also can completely nullify a team too as you overload them in central areas and then disrupt the area they should be stronger in.

Hate playing these, they always seem to do well against us. And got a palace supporting mate who is always so very pleased about it   Very happy with a win going into next week, in a perfect world our attacking play is much better as we need lots of goals to progress in Europe
