I be disappointing if Maddison joins Newcastle

I rather take a lower fee from the so called top 6

Sends wrong message out if players are ready to join Newcastle

We are bigger than Newcastle as a club

No we aren't - though we were better run club and had a better brand (boke) for last 5-6 years.

He'll have a better profile at Newcastle unfortunately.

I bet if he moved to Newcastle he'd be in the next England squad.

On what basis?

Are Newcastle better that Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal? Are they better than us?

If he joins Newcastle, then he 100% won’t be going to the World Cup.

There fans do not seem to want him. 😆 think 40 million is too much.

I think we should just get rid the recruitment team. Employ one informed fan of each team across Europe and they can tell you everything you know about their players.

maguire

bertrand

well basically every transfer ever.

“Sell our rubbish on like Amartey”.

Of all of our players that we need to get rid of why would you mention our 4th choice cb who is on a moderate wage? Seems like a crazy agenda to have. I would understand if you had said Perez, Vestaguaard, Bertrand, Hamza etc.

Col used to be a reasonable poster until he ate some infected beef

Reject any bid, sell him this close to the start of the season and we will be absolutely fleeced trying to panic & find a replacement

....an £80m offer would test our resolve, but Nacho could move into that hole as his tendency is to drop into that position!!!

The January window may be expensive but there are CAMs out there we can pick up, just that they may not be able to hit the ground running.

I am not saying that Nacho offers us the same as Maddison, just that he can drop into the role as an option.

I honestly think they wont be far off, they dont have the squad depth (yet) but their first XI is a top half team assuming its Wilson up top instead of Wood. Their isnt a huge amount between us, West Ham, Arsenal and their first team in a race for 6th if you will. Different story if they have injuries of course.

In what planet are they not far off? They’ve got so many awfully average players in there squad.

They need wholesale changes to become a force and arguably a new manager. Their little lift last season was nothing world beating, they played a lot of sides around them and beat them.

In fact they will struggle I think, both Newcastle and Everton will be towards the bottom end of the table and just stay up when it matters. They will finish nowhere near the top 10 let alone top 8……

Only slight Ray of hope for Newcastle is its a world cup year and maddison needs to do something to get in the squad. Being the top English goals and assists provider over past 2 or 3 years doesn't seem to be doing it.

£40 million to Newcastle makes less sense than giving Vestergaard our right wing slot for the season

I'd put Vestergaard in goal. Tall enough. Lanky enough. Pace perfect. Agility may need some work.

It says a lot about Newcastle the club and where they are right now that their fans think 40m too much for arguably the best British midfield around, and one being in the perfect age bracket too.  From a lcfc point of view surely they'd be thinking 60-80m.  He's probably the last person I'd want to go, he literally makes the team tick when he's on song (which is most of the time).

I’m starting to lose my rag now. Can’t wait for this wank window to slam shut. Since word got out that we can’t sign anyone the rumour mill has gone mad.
I really hope we can tie him down. Offer him 150 bags a week and £85M release clause to sweeten (against our policy) but we need to avoid a Tielemans type situation next summer.

I love football

i hate football

**** those corrupt mags

Yes we are. They literally haven't won a major trophy since 1955. In that time we have won every major domestic trophy, as well as being the 6th most successful English club since the Premier League era began. Best training ground in the world, more fans then them according to social media following. We are literally a bigger club then they are in every measurable way.

I'm sorry but if you truly believe that you are in for a disappointing shock this season.

In the last 20 games of last season, they got the 3rd highest points. Obviously it doesnt translate directly into a top 4 challenge but they wont be far off top 8. That 20 game spell was even with Wilson, Trippier and ASM out for periods.

A poor Newcastle is good for us so I do hope you are right of course.

Stick to the plan. We must turn down offers for the players we want to keep. Fofana and Maddison are two of those. Try to move on those we want and then add in areas we need strengthening. We must keep our nerve and the nucleus of our squad. We have had this before and will again if we continue to be successful.

I must admit I find it hypocritical and hard to watch the constant media articles on sky regarding LIV golf when Newcastle seem to be the new darlings alongside the greedy six.

I think 40 mill is an insult ,and I can't see them going much higher  ,I can't imagine that Leicester will sell him crazy if they do

They are crap and will prove it this season.

Yeez. This transfer window really tests you as a Leicester City fan.

Unfortunately, what it does highlight is the undisputed fact that we're a million miles behind the 'big 6' who just continue to spend massively and strengthen their squads..... I honestly fear for our ability to not only compete, but to stay in the PL in the next few years!...

Our star players will continue to be lured away by the far richer clubs.  Yes, perhaps this has always been the case, but we missed the opportunity to change all that after 2016.

... tragically for us!

I thought our wage structure was ****ed, how can we offer him more without selling?

If kasper does leave then he will be of our wage bill and hopefully use it to offer madders improved contract
