Sikh my man. Yeah tbh I think for us it’ll be about letting them explore their heritage in their own time.

They are literally me then lol.

My wife is hindu and we took the same approach. They are still young but go to both mandir and gurdwara and learn from us etc.

Anyhowwwww, you planning a honeymoon at all??

Sikh reception party? Tux or Westernized style Suit and tie bruv lol.

Most people (for as long as i remember) just wear your typical suit, custom fitted if money allows.

Nowadays they have indo-western style suits and of course you could always wear  a sherwani of some sort.

What does the missus think? Likely will want to coordinate with her.  Ask @StanSP he got married recently and is more local to you :)

No, believe he is hindu but mens fashion for those things are generally the same or very very similar. Walk into a punjabi mens fashion place of some sort and you are good to go. He might know of some good places to check out.

If you were doing the reception in Toronto i'd hook you up lol.

Absolutely love it. Smashing barriers and tradition. Although I’ve got the Indian party June. I think that may take about ten years off my life.

Hindu :D

Picture looks great - @casablancas. Glad you had an awesome day.

If it's taken you 3 days to recover from your wedding day, I sincerely wish you the best in your recovery after the reception party, especially at a Sikh one lol lol

What do you need help with? Places to shop for reception outfits?

Got mine next Saturday. What sort of times did others ghost their missus the night before, out of interest? Not sure what the convention is as she's staying at the venue and I'm at my mum and dad's.

Well I saw my missus the night before but not again until the wedding. Mind I did spot her in the far distance on her way to having her hair done. That was 1977 so celebrate 45 years married in June. We married a year to the day we met. Good luck to you.

Me and my missus just stayed in the same room / same hotel the night before as we had drinks get together in the night. She went to her folks in the morning.

Dont think there are really any rules anymore, just do whatever you both want.

Have a good one!

I'll never forget my Mum cooked us a chilli con carne loaded with garlic (and garlic bread) for the last supper. I'm stood at the alter the next day and the wife walks down the aisle looking stunning. She stands next to me in front of the vicar and I whisper to her "Wow, you look amazing!" She whispers back "Thanks, you fvckin stink of garlic!"

And that's pretty much how it's been for the last 25 years :D

For 25 years your wife has looked amazing and you've stunk of garlic? Surprised she's put up with that. :D

Night before our wedding, we carried on living together as we had the previous 7 years. Then in the morning we jumped into a cab down to the register office.

That's probably why we're now divorced. The Lord looked down and punished us for living in sin or being unromantic or something.....

I was blissfully unaware of this ritual - first I knew of it was a couple of days before when my bride to be asked where I was staying prior to the big day.

I decamped to the hotel that my mates were staying in and (rather foolishly and entirely predictably) proceeded to get gloriously hammered with them. Best man appeared at one stage with a litre bottle of 151 proof rum and a can of coke for us to share.

Kipped in with a couple of friends in their room.

Wife was slightly concerned during the ceremony that the best man would barf when his big moment came, and me and him look a bit green in some of the photos.

But absolutely epic night.

Enjoy, and have a great day 👍

Cheers for the good wishes everyone. Really buzzing for it now.

Reckon I'll probably have some tea with her then drag any blokes on her side who want a bit of time away from the bridal party to the pub with my mates.

All the best my hombre x
