I wish there was a better alternative to Albrighton but I'm not sure there is. Possibility of playing Ricardo ahead of Justin or Castagne? Perez maybe but he'll be bullied by Roma's aggressive defending. Obviously Lookman from the right is also an option but he's looked ineffective that side despite contributing to the goal last week. Albrighton starts for me unless we go with 2 up top and a back 3.

Albrighton with the ball down the line into the channel for Vardy to score. Can see it now....

I'd play Ricardo and castagne as the two on the right.

He'll play Barnes though.

Him playing 90 at the weekend suggests it'll be Barnes and Lookman if we go 4-3-3

Albrighton hasnt played that much recently, although admittedly he'd have started 3 in a row if he starts on Thursday. But I don't think 90mins for him on Sunday is a guarantee that he won't play on Thursday.

Yep, i'd go with this on the RHS, especially against a Jose managed Roma

I want Ricardo to be better than he has been at RW. Probably hasn't played enough games there to make a good judgement.

Also think he's best attacking wise when he's running from deep, which he's unlikely to do at RW

The hype around this game will be huge by tomorrow morning. I just hope all the players heads are in the right place. It will be very different and intense from anything they’ve experienced before.

If we play our A game from start to finish we can win this but the fear is always there of the momentum shifting. I have that feeling in my gut of England VS Italy euro final. Come on foxes dig deep and be strong :chant::scarf::fc::fc:

I hate it when we start matching teams up, thinking about the opposition more than ourselves as we did on Sunday. It's not like we are good in a back five either, quite the opposite so it's a real head scratcher for fans to be calling for that formation given it's ruined the last two seasons - is it going to make it 3 on the trot?

....not sure it ruined the last two seasons, as it worked at the back end of last season when Vardy played upfront with Nacho!!!

The only surprise with that setup was Vardy inexplicably being unable to score, irrespective of the chances which came his way. A 3-5-2 can work for us, just so long as the Wing Backs are not pushed too far on. A Vardy Nacho front two could be a winner, our only problem is we have not played it for a while.

Hes given up a shot at 7th for this and taking us to the edge of relegation form. Lose this and he should drop like a stone.

Win and we get the pleasure of it masking over another season of failure

Another season of failure, you have had a mare, think last season may have been the second most successful in our history but sadly that does not suit your narrative.

If he had played full strength teams in the league and picked up injuries you would have slaughtered him.

Interestingly you have already decided no credit us due if we do win.

RHS - Ricardo and Perez (bite me)

LHS -Timmy and Lookman or Barnes

Tbf I forgot about Perez (As Rodgers apparently did for the first 30 games of the season lol).

Could understand putting him there over MA.

LEICESTER FANS POURING INTO ROME AHEAD OF CONFERENCE LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL
by Apollo Heyes | May 3, 2022 18:41

Leicester City fans have started arriving in the Italian capital ahead of their Europa Conference League semi-final against Roma, with a sizeable away support expected.

The first leg between the Giallorossi and the Foxes finished 1-1 at the King Power stadium following a goal from Lorenzo Pellegrini and an unfortunate own goal by Gianluca Mancini. The Roman club are now only one game away from reaching a European cup final, and they’re feeling confident with their home fans behind them.

As reported by Il Messaggero, a sizeable number of Leicester City fans are set to support the team at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday, with around 3,200 supporters expected. They have already started to arrive in the Italian capital in order to soak in the spirit ahead of the electric encounter.

It’ll be a special match in particular for Claudio Ranieri, who is a childhood fan of Roma but a club legend with Leicester following his incredible Premier League success in the 2015-16 season.

You do know that if we won it, it'd be our first European trophy right? And that we'd get a Europa League place next season?

Yeah believe it or not I did realise that. I'm just pointing out that spinning it all in a way to make Rodgers sound like the second coming isn't gonna help either.

Like anything there needs to be balance. I like him but he deserves to be criticised this season.

A message to all who are going to Rome (alas I can’t be among you though my son will be):

Happy travels, enjoy the Eternal City, stay safe, give it all you’ve got in support of the team, and make all us stay-at-homers jealous as hell as you witness at first hand a momentous and historic victory!

100%

But far to many people undermining the team progress in the ECL to make a point.

Yes it's the 3rd tier European competition, but if we win it, we will have beaten 4 quality teams.

If we win it, that will be 3 major trophies in 6 years. Outside of Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool, what other English club could match that?

Don't say things like that on here mate, it's too positive.

Some days sure, or do you expect league position and league strength to be a infalible definition of results?

No but i can say when we shouldn't be losing. Warsaw and Forest were two examples. Because those teams aren't at our standard. I think you know this but are being facetious .

Sorry, being facetious is a bad habit I have.  My counter argument to your point would be that we should not have won the league, yet we did,  unlikely results happen and the sport is richer for it, but of course it sucks when it’s against us!

One thing for certain is that we must never ever play Thomas as a wing back again. He lacks the pace and dynamism required. Justin, Castagne and Ricky P are options as wing backs, though.

If I remember well Thomas was introduced as an attacking FB and he had some good games on the left side.
