Have you ever watched Sky News? They're just as bad as the BBC. I guess they may use this as a publicity stunt and get him in if Lineker is sacked though.

They still employ Gary Neville don't they? Doubt they'd be arsed about Linekers views.

Jenas will get the job as the defacto mouldable understudy for Lineker. He takes whatever job he can get, regardless of charm or charisma (or lack of both) at his disposal.

The future gets bleaker

At what point do we have a serious discussion about the rise of fascism in the UK?

Horrible isn't it?

I don't wish to split hairs but he is paid extremely handsomely by the Beeb for what he does on a Saturday night.

He has been top of the BBC 'Top Earners List' for the last 5 years!!

What he earns is irrelevant. If he presented the news or Question Time, then his tweet would  of been inappropriate. Then again, Andrew Neil can present a BBC politics show wearing an Adam Smith institute tie and be the chairman of the Spectator, so……

You might think it irrelevant but it adds to the perspective of the situation.

Perfect for the Tories. The problems they create get swept under the carpet with daft solutions. As the main news headline is regarding a man with big ears tweeting a fair point of view, and their decision making is not scrutinised.

Unfortunately BBC have long since had a rule of remaining somewhat neutral. They’ve never been against someone believing and voicing  concern about a humanitarian cause.. but the moment you start taking shots at a political party is when you break the neutrality clause in your contract.

on top of that, you then start criticizing your boss. You just can’t do that.

it’s almost like he was looking for ways to get out of his contract. I don’t think he liked working for the BBC anymore :(

I hope the produces of MOTD defy the BBC and just broadcast the show without any presenter or commentators.

It would be a much improved show that way. Gave up long ago on Lineker's poorly delivered puns and jokes, and Shearer and Wright's basic "he done magnificent" punditry.

This is nothing about presenter impartiality and everything about the beeb head office leaning to the right. Almost an air of Goebbels to it. You can't sack me Beeb. **** paying the licence fee

Is the Sharp guy at the top of BBC still being investigated into his donations to the Tory party?

A far more serious issue than Lineker. The BBC has made itself the main story when it should be a minor issue. Deflects away from government policy. The bloke at top of Beeb being a Johnson pal is a real story. We have had presenters voice concerns over environmental issues quite rightly that criticise the government but they don't get the sack or suspended

Neil ,who apart from being the ugliest human on this planet, is free to tweet his extreme right wing bilge when he likes then.
