The Newcastle fans I've chatted with are pretty convinced Pope is better.

So am I. I would have happily have had him here, and 10 million is a steal. England's best keeper on my opinion

There's been some murmurings we are open to selling Iversen.

If that the case its probably down to he poor distribution, I'm not sure Pope is better in that regard.

Just don't see a keeper is a priority this season.

We seem to have a stack of young keeper talent.

As how much are Newcasltle paying him 80k-100k?

We need to be very smart on the wages front at the moment.

Definitely not a priority this summer

Good business from them. Seem to be investing in youth, it’s a good model . It’s a channel I thought we were going down but Rodgers or the powers that be dont seem to be a fan. Real shame. I think we had a real good opportunity to be seen as a place young players can come and make a name for themselves like a poor man’s dortmund. Instead we just sign below average Southampton players on big wages. Slowly undoing a lot of good work in my opinion.

Problem for a club of our statute is Palace can afford wait but then realise they are no further forward or minimal. We can’t.

Our financial model means we need to outachieve every two to three years. Can’t afford to wait three seasons on the promise of players. Of course you get those players wrong you we have a season like last. Palace for their development didn’t go any higher in the league, interesting season for them ahead.

Spurs are going for it! Some1 must’ve found Levy’s chequebook and tied him up

Because they know Conte will walk if he doesn't get what he wants .

Yes we do but we aren't signing a new keeper until Kasper goes so no point even yearning for it.

it's an opportunity that came round a year too early. whatever funds we do have need to go on a right winger/forward, a cb as an Evans successor and Youri replacement. Next summer replacing Kasper will be the main priority for funds

Can’t help it! He’s the root cause of all our set piece woes…

But I agree he’s much more likely to leave next summer than this

I noticed Porto had rejected a bid from Leeds apparently for Otávio.

If Pope is on 80k then it's nearly half what Kasper is on and he's 5 years younger.

That would of saved 4 million a year on wages if Kasper was to go this summer whilst getting a very good goalkeeper in.

Still just see Kasper running this contract out and then Ward/Iverson taking the number 1 spot (depending who is still at the club)

Kasper is approx 120k

pope with a year left only cost 10m

he may be on 80k/week but his s/o lump would be at least 5m and more likely double that.

he has only signed a four year deal so it looks like this won’t be his last move

kasper will dictate to the club - he has that status whether you like it or not.

Not sure why I feel this strongly but can’t see Ward as our number one keeper.

I know Rodgers says he is a number one keeper but always thought he did that to keep his value for any future interest.

But his not going to is he, which is why we were never going to buy Pope.

I can't believe people are so eager to see Kasper, not only our best ever keeper, but also I'd imagine the biggest voice in the dressing room, leave.

We've lost Morgan and Fuchs, and with us soon losing Kasper and Vardy, it's not going to be long until there's no characters in the dressing room that will be a positive voice.

Once we do lose the last few remaining players we have from our Championship days and our title winning season, I don't think it will be long until we're looking back at the Championship again.

I think we've seriously underestimated how vital good characters are, and even the likes of Okazaki/Ulloa have been replaced in the squad with inferior personalities, and in my honest opinion, lesser players too.

I really struggle to understand how so many blindly follow Rodgers.

How people can believe him, and that the reason we're beginning to decline is because we're being held back by some of our most successful players in our history, is beyond me.

I think Pope for ten mill to the Geordies is an absolute steal.

Personally I think he’s very near to being the best English keeper.

And anyone realistically thinking Rodgers will replace Schmeichel, think again. He loves him

I know he will and was never having a go at Kasper 😀 Just going off the interview about him wanting a fresh challenge and possibly champions league.

I actually do like Kasper as a keeper but the club usually has a plan in place with the next move. If Keepers like Pope and Johnstone are available cheaply and we haven't looked into it then it looks like we are settled for next season.

Which is why I put that it looks like we may well go forward with Ward or Iverson from the season after next.

Debt is not a problem if it can be serviced by income and profit.

spurs owner has just injected £150m of cash into the club. They had a wedge that they hadn’t spent last season too. They can spend £200m if they want to this summer. They will be bringing approx £50/75m in on sales also.

I’m sure there was talk of them re structuring the debt so they could invest in the squad this summer

Shame really as he would’ve single handedly fixed out set piece issue

Yes ,they also borrowed £175 million from Bank of England whilst furloughing their workforce, excluding player of course.

If someone could explain.
