Fair play to Hull for this

Great gesture. Pleased for them now as their owners seems much better than the previous. They took about 1000 fans to Turkey as well last year.

That's true.  The optimistic view was that we would be play-offs or thereabouts at the World Cup break, and then (when Kompany had had time for a mid-season pre-season, so to speak, with all the new players) - then, we could make a promotion push.

Mind you, 5 wins out of 5 since the World Cup - the break has done them good!

I admit I was sure your club would slide at least another tier if relegated.

A crushing nine-figure loan to buy the club, with interest currently at 13½ percent.  Reports they had to use this year’s parachute payment to pay back a big chunk due to relegation.  And still a dozen players on 20K or more per week.  Jeez, what a risky bet … two years in the Championship (or below) could sink it.

But so far, your new owners are proving me wrong.  They seem to be getting value for what they can spend.  And Kompany looks like the masterstroke (Hail Mary?) that was needed.  So this very risky gamble may come up a winner.

But they had better finish the job, else you are still ****ed.  If you end up in the playoff, it might be more like Russian Roulette.

I'm enjoying the football more than I'm enjoying the finance - which is a disaster area.  Though after departures of Long, Westwood and Lowton, we're now down to 7 players in the squad who have PL experience.  (But rumours we're still paying Sean Dyche's wage.  And that isn't cheap!  £80k per week, or so.)

All the parachute money went to the new owners, because they haven't yet finished paying for the shares.  This year's funds are from the £70m player sales less £20m player purchases.  Lord knows what the owners will do with the PL money if we go up.

Kompany at present is significantly more popular than Dyche, but dyche is still pretty popular.  It just went a bit stale at the end (not helped by the previous owner squirrelling away the funds and refusing to spend).

I've no idea why more clubs don't do this when really it's in their interest to have more support at games.

Even if not for all, for maybe season ticket holders.

See Appleton has been ditched by Blackpool and not for the first time but looking at his record this season it was far from brilliant.

Rather left field replacement potentially.

Mick McCarthy!

Thought he had retired tbh .

Like us recruiting Hodgson?

No leaks yet on the Sheffield United takeover bid. I wonder if it is someone unpopular hence it being so under wraps.

Apparently a Nigerian tech guy?

Cracking looking South Yorkshire derby today actually with Sheff Utd at Rotherham. Living in a village between Sheffield and Rotherham where the split is pretty even from what I can gather, and the neighbours one side are Millers with Blades next door to them, should be fun

Yeah the in-laws are off to it. Two clubs get on fairly well though now. Warnock link and blades fans chucked a fair amount of cash in buckets to keep Rotherham going a while back.

Yeah it is a friendly Derby as they go. I think Rotherham also seem to take more issue with the lot over in S6 more than Utd.

I enjoy watching both play, different but enjoyable. Really hope we don’t swap places with Sheff Utd mind!

Play off picture starting to look a bit wearily familiar now, hoping either Luton, Blackburn or Millwall can get themselves up.

Yes fancy Boro or WBA.

Don’t think we will be .
