Reminds me of Bolasie when he was younger and actually quite promising.

I would be both shocked and appalled if our recruitment team didn’t have this lad on their list. He’s genuine premium sauce.

A highly rated young left footed right winger who'll be available at a fairly low price and won't expect massive wages. Seems like a fairly obvious signing. Anything that reduces Maddison being on that right wing or Perez stepping foot on the pitch again has to be seen as a massive bonus

Preferably Zito, but....

  • Zito André Sebastião Luvumbo
  • Matteo Cancellieri
  • Francisco Conceição
  • Yunus Akgün

But I suspect this is a much tougher task than it seems, not identifying but actually landing them. The big clubs have too much gravity, suspect many players would happily play for big club feeder/B/seconmd team for 2 years than work up their A team from a perceived lesser club

Decent decision making for a young lad as well, seems to largerly know when to release the ball which is always a concern with ball carrying players.

Man City now have nearly double figures in left footed wingers/ attacking midfielders. Its absolutely bonkers.

Top level football is a cartel. You stop lesser clubs being uppity and picking up next level young talent, by buying all the next level young talent and loaning them to feeder clubs (or to other clubs in your stable)

If they are any good (rare as they cannot get the required exposure to top level football) then they come back or just sell for a profit

win/win

Derby are on no position to piss about either. Get it done.

His contract is up, only been with them a year or so as well from Arsenal academy so the fee would be less than £2m

Yeah I know, still think a club like us should be able to take such talent on occasion up against the elite as we offer everything the elite can but with a more straight forward career path, we pay very very well too.

I just don't think it's in our project planning to pay upwards of a few million for young unproven players at the minute which is really frustrating.

...wouldn't this be to the detriment of our academy players!!!

I know the RW is not something our academy has, that can resolve our situation, but surely going around picking up young talents and bringing them in, pushes your Braybrooke,  Alves and Wormleighton's down the pecking order.

I do think that a lot of players are wising up to this: You see more young players from the "big" academies refuse contracts and ply their trade abroad to keep their career on track. They don't want to be on loan musical chairs, and then find themselves playing in League 1 at 25 because they listened to Pep's sweet whispered promises in their ears, and then watch him shell out £50 million for a guy who will only make the bench in a Cup game.

Some of these players would  rather make 60k/week and play, and then earn the big salary or move, than get paid 90-110 a week and watch their career evaporate. (I do realize that at some point, the money becomes irresistible).

Of course, the same thing applies to us, but I think we are trying to create a visible pathway for our young talent, both at the academy and when recruiting.

Yes it possibly does but so does signing first team players and the end goal for this club is to be as successful as possible and have as many different options to progress as possible.

These wouldn't be signings to play in our U23's, they'd be signings to challenge the 1st team or be on loan and proving they can make it here or be sold for hopefully a profit. We also have Leuven to help us.

Our academy is still in the warly stages of extensive progression as well don't forget, I wouldn't expect to see it operating at its maximum under McGuinness for another couple of years.

Isn't he usually in the middle?

Transfermrkt has him playing LW ST and RW but mainly as a RW. He's at an age where he can be moulded as well, looking at his intelligence and comfort on the ball, there's no reason he can't play off the right.
