Why do the BBC bother scheduling regular programmes during Wimbledon fortnight, especially week one? It's nearly 8 pm and Djokovic hasn't started yet, so its pretty obvious Top Gear is gonna get moved. I'm not fussed I love the tennis, and it's not difficult to get on iplayer and watch things like I did with Sherwood on Monday. But it does annoy people, especially the older generation who aren't used to streaming. Just don't bother about showing normal stuff in the most part as most days the play is going past 9pm.

 

EDIT: I stand corrected they are moving to BBC2. I was sure they stick Djokovic on BBC1.

I absolutely loved that second Monday though - camped quite a few times on a Saturday and Sunday night to get my pick of court for the fourth round.

The commentary on this match is nauseating. You'd think Rijthoven was 5-2 up. They just Ignore anything good Djokovic does and be completely over the top for Rijthoven.

Thing is though that most people work during the week, so the weekend is the only real chance they have to watch live tennis. Seems crazy that they wasted all those middle Sundays.

Not sure if it was guff it’s hard to maintain grass courts and they do need a rest. Tech has just allowed them to maintain them better in recent years.

 

I do agree though why the they’d rest the courts on Sunday and have a day jam packed with tennis on Monday when it could easily be done the other way round always escaped me.
