Rybakina showing exactly what she’s capable of :appl:

Intriguing final coming up on Saturday, two players with games perfectly suited for Grass, creativity vs power, bring it on.

Probably should've given Fritz the win in retrospect but maybe he didn't realise how bad the injury was at the time

Not sure why frizt couldn't be given the pass to the semi final to at least give a game?

Particularly as there are no ranking points, it's effectively an invitational competition.

Yay! A brit won the mixed doubles :D

They won last year I think too.

Shame Joe Salisbury and partner lost from 2 sets up v an Aussie pair in the doubles - had 5 match points too.

I thought this at first too, but ultimately he lost. You can't just gift the loser of a match a pass through.

Nadal probably should have retired during that game but maybe thought he could recover in time.

You have a point but is it fair to have Kyrgios in the final fully rest? We've also seen in European football teams that lost given a pass.

Another thing is that this year's tournament doesn't count towards ranking. It's like a showcase. Why leave the tournament without one semi final?  It really doesn't make sense, even from a commercial/marketing point of view.

I hope that Norrie has had a word with Murray. Got a 100% record against Djokovic at SW19, after all.

I mean, it's only played two won two, but hey. :D

There is no way Norrie wins today. At best it's going to be Djokovic at 4 sets. Most probably a 3-0 with Norrie being competive in 1 set at 6-4 or 7-5. Djokovic will apply huge pressure on his backhand. The best tactic from Norrie would be to use slices so he can slow the play, go for longer rallies and have more chances to position himself for forehand shots. Easy to say it, very hard to do it against a player like Djokovic.

Was having this argument with a colleague. He said "If Nadal had broken down at match point and retired then Fritz would have gone through despite losing so why shouldn't he go through because he lost".

I don't know if that's how the rules work but it made me side with him. I think it'd be better for the tournament if there were two semi-finals.

14:30 I think.

After the first doubles match .

At least it wasn’t the final Nadal pulled out of!

Now that would prove expensive for Wimbledon and a sad way for Sue Barker  to end her Wimbledon career on .

This years winners might end up being an anti  vaccine person , a hot headed Aussie , a Brit born in South Africa and lived in New Zealand with British parents.

Mind you most awkwardly for Wimbledon and the LTA the ladies champion could be a Russian who defected to   Kazakhstan  4 years ago .

Well no, because at match point the match wouldn't have technically been over and Nadal not won yet.

Well yeah, Murray can tell him all the weaknesses to target, but actually doing that is quite another. Murray had the ability, Norrie probably doesn't.
