Irrespective of the validity of the link, and by posting it in here in full it saves many from clicking the original it's a valid question considering the number of negative posts about last season and our ability to sign the best for the up coming season.

 

As for your question not in itself but this is a forum to discuss all things about LCFC most of which don't really matter or affect the club or the fans but without them the forum would be empty and people would have to find something else to do, maybe that would be a good thing

However yes there's definitely some who can't temper that with reality.

 

I always but it Basically if you wrote a predicted table at the start of the season, you end up with

 

Man city

Liverpool 

Chelsea

Man utd

Spurs 

And arsenal * not in any particular order,

 

Based on size of club, history and recent investment etc, so anyone cracking the top 6 has had an amazing season to start with.

 

Historically you would also be able to throw Everton into the mix. West ham are currently enjoying a purple patch, and now Newcastle are chucking some cash about.

 

Reality is finishing top 10 then becomes a real achievement for the likes of us or wolves etc so yes there's an element that think we should be top 6 or 4 but in reality that isn't gonna happen all that often.

 

What I will say tho. Next season with no midweek European games, if we can keep vardy, Evans, madders etc on the pitch once a week then we really should be targeting a good finish, especially with a nice mid season break for the likes of vardy and jonny, I do fear for the short summer and early return to pre season tho. But if we can get to November in a good position, a lot of the top clubs will have players flying of to the middle East and could be ****ed come feb/March.

 

This is a season we should target top 6, still not convinced about arsenal, West ham could suffer with the ECL, and Newcastle will need time to bed in a gel I reckon, and who knows what man utd will produce.

 

But as others have pointed out last season is still, what top 10 of our all time league positions and there's an element that's still not happy.

 

Let's hope we start well.

compared to the previous seasons under rodgers. 8th was achieved largely down to wolves falling away and us having an easy run in with clubs that were already relegated.
