madders all day for me, just think Evans and Vards will only play about 50% of our games this season due to age and reoccurring injuries.

As far as I know we’ve only got one player in the squad who had been a captain elsewhere.
He has also represented is country at international level, and played in the Olympics.

Won a champions league, a Europa League and an FA Cup.

He really is the obvious choice…

Well Arsenal have just made Odegaard captain at 23 so no reason KDH and Madders shouldn't be in the running.

I like the idea of a midfield captain too.

I just dont see vardy as the type to give bollockings. He does order players around a bit but it's harder to instruct players from the front. I would like for us to go for a captain in midfield, maybe KDH or Ndidi

KDH should be focussing on his own development this season, it's critical for him.

We don't have many leaders though.

And the 2 main “leaders” we have left in Vardy and Evans both had a fair few injuries last year so hopefully they can both stay fit.

Think KDH will become a good leader but not yet. Honestly think the only players we could really consider would be Evans, Vardy and Maddison if it keeps him here. I don’t think Vestergaard is too bad in terms of leadership but he’s just been awful and shouldn’t be a starter. Albrighton is another I’d consider but again won’t get the game time.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but for me a captain should either be a central defender or central midfielder.

I'm old fashioned too then.

I guess it depends on what you think a captain's role is but I personally think they should a decent view of the flow of the game, and have the degree of experience to know how to respond. So I necessarily will think that's the role of an older/wiser central player - be it middle of the pitch or defence, gk at a pinch.

I can only see Maddison, new contract and captain.

Speak very well in interviews and leads by example.

Some seem to think Leadership is all about shouting and being aggressive people, they are actually the worse leaders.

Agree here, worked in the workplace in the 70's-90's but not anymore. To be an effective leader you have to show maturity, cool head and make clear decisions at critical points in time. I think Maddison or KDH

KDH can’t be ready yet for a Captaincy in my opinion. You need a cool head and experience. Gotta be Evans as club captain and later on Vards or Madders I’d think.

As much as I want it to be masdoson it'll be johnny. He's VC and it'd be a kick in the teeth for him if he weren't promoted.

Plus I think with schmeichel gone, johnny will take his own style of commanding the back line and in the box.

Don't know hiw old he was when he became Leicester captain but David Nish was only 21 when he led the team in the '69 Cup final.
