The bigger the challenge, the more we will learn about him.  We wont learn much about him if he's given an armchair ride in a side that wins easily every week.

When Josh Knight went to Wycombe on loan, they were struggling at the foot of the championship meaning he was in a defensive battle EVERY game

Brought the very best out of him and demonstrated that he was capable of standing out in a weak team at championship level.

Also demonstrated his mental resilience that he never gave anything less than 100% every game even though he was nearly always on the losing side.....eventually earning him the supporters and players POY awards.

Really agree.

This experience will help develop that never say die attitude. These pros playing with him will be fighting for their families and staying in the football league

True.....But we sold him for a few £million to a championship side who knew he was capable of playing at that level.....thereby getting some return on our investment.

Ironically, Knight has now spent 2 successive seasons in the championship with different teams (Wycombe & Peterborough)....and both of them got relegated.

The curse of Josh Knight...?!?   :D

Rochdale have just sacked their manager and assistant. Hopefully the new manager rates Nelson and still picks him.

We got a small fee for Knight certainly not a few million.

Define small? Described by some as substantial but substantial to Peterborough could be fairly small I guess

I cant recall what the fee was or whether it was even disclosed.....I just incorrectly assumed it would have been maybe £2m max?

Do you know what the actual fee was as i would be interested to know?

No I don't know but a few million Is not within Peterborough budget even back then.

It would have never even been close to 7 figures I would imagine.

They spent over a million on Jonson Clarke-Harris whilst in a lower division, so I'd say a year later having got promoted it could have easily pushed 7 figures.

Quality strikers are a lot harder to find at that level so command bigger fees.

Just pointing out you stated not in their budget, when clearly they would have the budget to spend that much. Additionally Peterborough are renowned for plucking strikers for dirt cheap and selling on, so they don't necessarily command big fees as is evident with some of those they've picked up over the years.

Stolarczyk isn't starting, can't see the point in a loan for a goalkeeper where he's a sub every week especially when we've signed Smithies to allow it.

Will have to earn his place the same goes for any player at any club.

He's only been there 5 minutes

Give him a chance.

Watford drew 0-0. Watford fans seem to say Hamza was one of the their top players. One said he was playing the quarter back role. He’s had a great start there it seems. I hope we see him develop.
