I'm not sure how you might have come to that conclusion.

Vardy is a legend in my view. He came from non-league football to go on to win the Golden Boot Award in the Premier League.

He holds a record for scoring 13 goals in 11 successive Premier League matches in a single season.

I just meant if you don't think Kasper is a legend for us then why would you think Vardy is? If you're setting the bar so high that Kasper isn't a legend...

For what it's worth, I think Kasper is a LCFC legend and also Leicester's Greatest Ever Keeper.

Ok so why don't you think Kasper is a legend the same as Vardy then? We had world-class goalkeepers in Banks and Shilton who won us the sum total of  one 2-legged league cup. Kasper has won us promotion to the prem then went on to win the Premiership title and finally with two world-class saves helped us win the F.A cup. He IS a legend and how any Leicester fan can say otherwise is beyond me.:dunno:

Cant believe anyone who supports LCFC thinks he isn’t a legend.World Class shotstopper terrific leader on and off pitch. Banks and Shilton  more commanding in the air and also world class shotstoppers - distribution not an issue in their eras…

In 11 years there's only the goal away at Doncaster that stands out as a completely cut-and-dry howler. Remarkable record for a keeper, much better GKs produce more glaring mistakes.

I was in my midteens when he scored against Yeovil, it's the greatest single moment during a game I'd seen at that time - the whole ground chanting his name was amazing. Still frustrating to this day it wasn't given as his goal.

This one potentially cost us about 30-40 million :D

I'm gutted he has gone. I really thought he would retire here. Thank you for everything Kasper 💙

Us ladies are gutted, the team just got a little less sexy 😆

Can’t get over what we had to what we now have 😭

Can’t believe people ever thought the clown would be an adequate replacement to the greatest keeper in the clubs history (a club that had Banks and Shilton)

Agreed, be careful what you wish for.

Kasper knew the ship was sinking and got out before it did.

No he left because he wouldn't take a pay cut in his new contract offer like Vardy did.

Did Rodgers think the same and tell the board Ward was an adequate replacement or did he fight to keep Kasper at all costs unless we invested well in an replacement

Every single thing you said in that one sentence is wrong

We miss his shot-stopping, that's obvious, as a team we give away too many shots on goal but this was papered over because Kasper saved them.

Kasper leaving isn't the problem, it's who we've replaced him with.

Look don't make stuff up people, Kasper said he wanted to play for another club before retirement a couple of years ago.  He's been in prem his whole career.

No, he hasn't.

We now not only have the worst shot stopper in the PL, but in all of the top 5 leagues in Europe, this is a fact not an opinion.

We could have Brendan in goal and fare better...

He’s played in League One and Two plus the Championship lol

Jheeez guys sorry should have quoted him. In England for a long time wanted to try somewhere new.

That's the point I'm making. He didn't want more money, just wanted to play football elsewhere.

Going through this thread brings back some wonderful memories. How did we keep this lad for as long as we did???

That's easy. A sustained period of fairly consistent success to which he was central.

That, and the endless booing and groaning everytime he wasn't able to pass it to someone's toes over 70 yards.

Have to say I wasn’t fussed when he was leaving as I felt he hadn’t addressed some key weaknesses and contributed a lot to our poor defence.
looking back we miss a lot about him but more than anything his presence and demanding personality probably kept a few on their toes. Not sure anyone does that now?
I assume Rodgers didn’t like such a strong character because I can’t believe he moved for money
