I can't understand the decision to give him a years extension either.

Whoever made the decision thinks that this time next year Hamza will suddenly be worth a decent fee so they've tied him to a contract, but in reality because of his wages he'll be worth the same as he is now, nothing.

Watford is like 2 hours max commute away, they're hardly being separated in terms of social life

i'm aware, that's not what i'm referencing. have you ever had someone you got on extremely well with in a job that leaves...obviously it has an effect on you. you get over it but it does.

Well yea but they're obviously not just dicking around in training are they? If Hamza is a bad influence on Barnes it'll be in the partying antics

Tamworth youth cup! And I played every game, you want to try being a goalkeeper playing at the lamb in May. It's like concrete! :D

Tbh I'd be embarrassed to claim I played a part in a cup win after featuring for less than a half and I'd be embarrassed if someone leapt to my defence and insisted it was a notable achievement of mine.

He's made it as a pro footballer and earns more in a week than I earn in a year, that's a much better shout then getting a few sub minutes in an FA Cup run :D

Also, I hope you don't go around comparing yourself to people like that mate, it'll be a sad existence unless you're Jeff Bezoz or Elon Musk.

Yeah but he still achieves more in football than you and has loads more money than you ever will.  And he has an F.A cup medal which is more than Harry Kane has. I don't need to defend him I'm pretty sure he couldn't care what you think .So if you earned the right to an F.A cup winners medal you'd be embarrassed?:nigel:

I'd be embarrassed if people kept bringing it up absolutely, I'd definitely feel undeserving as well.

I'm genuinely confused as to what your point is to be honest. Someone questioned him being on 60k a week and you started bigging up the guy for playing 43 minutes in an FA Cup run.

If that's worth 60k a week then Youri and Kel should be on about 6 million a week.

People? you mean you. You are the only one making a big deal out of nothing. What has it got to do with you how much a player is on?  for someone who only ever achieved none-league football your jealousy is embarrassing. You really need to get out more.

That's one thing we can agree on :D

What has anything outside of my life got to do with me, absolutely nothing, yet I still take an interest in things that aren't about me.

As we've established, my life is boring as hell, so if i'm not talking about things that aren't directly related to me or my life then it's gonna be a pretty grim existence.

You've got a real weird chip on your shoulder about this, so I can only assume you know Hamza personally. Enjoy the game on Friday, I'll be watching hoping he puts in a 10/10 performance.

I don't know Hamza and neither do you. But you are the one with the chip on your shoulder about him. Now that is weird.:dunno:

I was delighted until I saw the contract extension, what's the point in that?

Nothing against the lad, but it's clear that the wage we pay him is a complete waste, when he gets zero game time for us. We're paying him to not play, and he doesn't have the potential to ever play for us in that position given Ndidi's age.

Also excited to watch him play.

I think he'll absolutely smash it in the Championship.

That or absolutely smash an opponent. Or both lol

Good luck Hamza

Burnley pressing whenever a Watford player has the ball isn’t playing into the narrative of he’ll smash the Championship 🙈

Twice under 10 mins his first touch has got him into trouble 🙄

How many reds has he had in his career?

Never had a straight red in club football - 1 straight red for England under 21s

Had a red card for 2 yellows on 2 occassions vs Wolves and Bury (at Burton)

I remember him, getting one for England u21s against France.   At the start of the game,  England were on top and Hamza was bossing the game.

Hamza made a leg breaking challenge got sent and England lost.

Not Hamza related per se but this Burnley side look a completely different side.

Their keeper actually tried passing it out from the back, made a mistake and Watford could have scored but shows how quickly a style of football can change at a club.

Can't say he's done anything wrong but he hasn't stood out.

Has kept things pretty simple and boring but I guess the curse of Bodgers ball hasn't worn off yet.

He's created two decent chances now, one interception and one bicycle kick.

He's looked confident as a decent defensive midfielder.

So far it's an alright debut.
