Watford are on Sky Friday night for anyone interested to see how he gets on if he plays.

Or how soon he gets a booking.

Best of luck to him.

Interested to see how it affects Barnes. They're besties, always see them training together, been inseparable since kids.

Barnes was on loan at West Brom and all was well, so I'm sure they'll be fine

Well I liked him. A decent stand in, all action, quick, genuine engine....I felt he was underutilised.

Certainly no different in ability to PL mainstays  like Jeff at Palace or Hendrcks or Cork at Burnley and miles above those longstaff clowns at Newcastle. Not his fault he was paid treble what all of the above are paid.

I'll be interested to see how he gets on. Best of luck Hamza.

As others have said, I don't get some of the hate he gets on here, granted he can be rash but he has energy, commitment and bravery by the plenty

All the best to the lad, can't see him playing in our shirt again so I hope his career goes on to fulfill the potential he has

I though some of the criticism he got on FT was unwarranted, I hope he kicks on, because he has the ability to become a good player.  He just needed the game time, which he probably would have got under Puel.  Rodgers for whatever reason didn't rate him, and probably delayed his career, another Rodgers man management masterpiece.

If it’s right that we’re paying half his wages then it’s costing us approx £1.5m to move him on & free up squad space.

That might set the bar for one or two others

I like your thinking. Watford could use a new manager.

Rogers is touted as a great man manager and motivator to young players. He’s missed a trick with Hamza. At one point called him his mascherano after a stellar performance. Look Hamza as a player is still raw. It’s probably not good that he hasn’t developed further at his age and time at the club BUT there are many reasons for that. It’s not all his fault.

I really do hope he takes his chance at watford and the manager there can finally spend the time on him to make him the player we all know he can be. Hamza is home grown and despite his faults or short comings is one of our own and he’s never said a bad word about the city or club.

he quietly gets on with what he’s told to do.

I will never pan him.
good luck Hamza now go show us all what you can really do - the shackles are off!

He has no footballing intelligence. This is natural look at someone like Maddison he understands the game. No amount of coaching will help Hamza be into the player you think he is.

Got a F.A cup winners medal have you?:nigel:

Eh? lol

What does this mean? Playing 43 mins in the FA Cup that season entitles the man to earn £3 million a season while contributing almost nothing, less than nothing in some instances.

If not, then I'm interested to hear what you mean by this reply lol

Decent player, but not at the standard the club is aspiring to be at on a regular basis. Enjoyed his goal at Newcastle, but doesn’t seem to have the ability on the ball needed. Good move for him and opportunity for the first time in years for regular football. Half his wages off the wage bill, and a senior pro off the squad list. Hopefully we are starting to see the right sort of movement out the door, hopefully not too late in the day to add if we can get the right player/s

Yeah good luck to the lad. I really hope he kicks on and does well.

I hope he does well, I like him just didn’t get to those high end levels. But his work rate and tenacity will do him well in the championship. But with that extension they either think he’ll do well, with more game time and anticipate a sale or that he’ll come back and a better player will fill in the gaps of a depleted squad come next summer.

Curious to see how he goes to be honest. His appearances for us were so intermittent it was hard to gauge how good or bad he really is. Sometimes he looked decent and at times he looked a liability. I think this is a great move for him at a good age, absolutely should be playing week in, week out at 24 years of age.

If he nails down a starting position and Watford get promoted, they'll certainly trigger the clause. If not ... two more years on the loan carousel.

One more year. Contract is up in 2024 with the extension.

Realistically Watford will only match his wages, enabling a permanent move, if they go up this season.

If not he’ll be out on loan again next year with us picking up a share of the bill.

Personally I wish the guy all the best. But his case does nicely illustrate why we are having problems moving players on.
