Good point - it could be a big challenge for Rodgers. i think fans have a part to play - if he does stay, we have to move on and not isolate/boo him - and then hope the coaching team and colleagues can get him back to enjoying his time here.

Boo him loudly.!!

Let him earn our respect by fighting for our club.

I'm not sure that was the smartest move by Brendan. Now he's training with a bunch of mates all round his own age.

They'll keep his spirits up whereas the seniors would tell him a few home truths.

He should have been sent to the under eights, They'd do his head in and he'd come to his senses quickly.

I understand he’s doing what he thinks is right for his career and potential.

But he must understand this is only going to make us less likely to sell, lest it sets a precedent.

If an outrageous fee comes in then fine but otherwise stick to our guns and wait until the new year to accept offers.

I would leave him with them for the next 6 months just to ensure he doesn't go to the world cup.

Regardless of what happens now he will have lost all the trust of the fans and his team mates alike.

I like ur thinking , but I would drag him into the office and give him two options a) either u pull ur head in , and get out there and train and play to ur potential or option b) u sit on the bench with no chance of football until after the World Cup and then only in the under 23s . So the balls in ur court , now get out of my office .

Surely making this public knowledge weakens our negotiating power somewhat?

I mean I’m not naïve enough to think it wouldn’t get out, all it takes is Fofana, his agent, anyone, to leak it but for the manager to just offer it into the public domain not really sure why he’d do that.

Probably to curry favour with the rest of the team. Rodgers knows the players don't like him and are not responding to him anymore, so use someone as the bad guy

that the squad dislikes even more than him at present, yep Fofana. Classic deflection mode.

How odd!? I genuinely did post something else in this thread in reply to somebody pretty much saying what you did.

I pretty much said that this was probably the wrong thread to post that particular comment but that I felt I  general things at the club seem a mess at present. Unless I'm cracking it up it must've been deleted but I can't think why

Edit: found it actually

Yeah probably the wrong thread to post that particular comment in but everything seems to have gone to shit really quickly. The feel good atmosphere surrounding the club has well and truly gone

Time to call it a night for me, can’t wait to put my head on my soft pilau, and spread out on my king size madras.

Someone else beat me to it but can finally admit to really not liking his ears.

I hope when he does leave (it is happening) that someone flicks them during a game to prove I’m not alone.

If he stays and has learnt his lesson, I hope he can be welcomed back by the fans, otherwise the toxicity will spread. We have a unique family culture at the club and we are at the risk of losing it if we start to boo our own players. He should not have done what he did by missing training, for sure. He only just signed a new contract and should be grateful and show some loyalty to the club. But he did have the guts to turn up watching the last game which shows not all is lost. He is just a young lad.

If we don’t handle this right, next in line maybe Maddison or even Barnes although Maddison seems more grounded these days and Barnes being a local lad may have a lot more loyalty to the club.

I blame the system we have in football where big clubs have the FFP rules in their favour and they are allowed to just walk over to any club, spend or offer the money, and nick good players from other teams that they compete against or otherwise disrupt their preparation like Chelsea is doing to us simply by turning heads and creating toxicity.

We welcomed back Mahrez a couple of times. If Fofana returns and plays to his ability, the fans will get behind him soon enough.

Yep! Loyalty is a two-way street, and he has to re-earn ours...

I'd play Fofona against Chelsea then they will see how bag average he really is.

I think you're right.  Fofana is a terrific athlete and a great prospect but we still concede from corners and we still leak goals with or without him.  Is he really that good?

We're falling into a situation where we don't want to sell him, but somehow we also don't want him here either. Its ridiculous.

Haha isn't it just lol

Not helped by having a very petty man as the manager.

Just been clearing out some old emails including one from LCFC on the 7th March.

'Celebrate Forfana signing a new contract'.

Means feck all these days.

His loyalty is going to be challenged if they can't even be bothered to spell his name right.
