Many irons in many fires hopefully. I’m sure we’re touching base with half a dozen or more potentials. He could be no.16 on the list.

This is exactly the type of deal we should be doing. Why aren’t we all over this?

Why would we want another LW?

Our squad is unbalance as it is, its like being back in the Sven days.

Didn’t Dorsett and Tanner both say that the issues were with wages and squad spaces rather than transfer funds?

Surely with 65m windfall and Perez potentially on his way we could afford Gakpo and Lacroix.

I said from day one, that’s nonsense. We are brassic for the moment.

I mean we’re going for a CAM to fill a RW role we might as well just get the better player…

Plus Barnes seems to miss a good chunk of every season so theres that too.

I completely agree with you on this. I’ve suspected the club are more skint than they are letting on but until someone else says otherwise thats the most information we have.

I've respected you as a poster for years, all out the window with use of the phrase "touching base" I'll never trust again

They've said we're likely to get no more than half of the Fofana money, if that, to reinvest this window.

Makes perfect sense, let’s have two out and out left wingers at the club that can’t offer any flexible tactical options for other positions.

Gakpo is a good player but we need a effing right winger and have done for years but let’s moan we’re not buying a player we don’t need.

Okay we’ll just stick to the CAM who isn’t an RW or actually very good.

I’m not moaning that we aren’t buying Gakpo but if Southampton get him and we end up with this duffer its just a shambles isnt it?

Yeah the goal posts keep moving. A few weeks ago it was we have money but not the space in the squad or flexibility in the wage structure.

Its about time someone came out and set the record straight because things are worse than is being let on, at least for the short term.

Sorry I didn’t know that was a faux pas!

He hasn't played out side of Eredivisie massive risk for that type of money.

I don't want Harit either but chances we can get him on a loan, which sort of helps when we have a limited budget.

It's ffp and we've pocketed the best part of 80m in fees and wages this window. Not sure on percys line but I imagine it helps to say we can only spend half of it at this stage.

Correction, reporters just keep guessing to seem relevant. Only one I trust is Percy and he said from about March we had to sell to buy and that we could be as much as £90m loss in last accounts.

We can’t keep losing money, especially until KP get their house back in order in Thailand. As what they probably planned to take on debt wise for ground and training ground, has been expanded massively because of covid. One loan was from top personally, which I found odd at the time.

Absolutely insane you'd use Pearson as an example when about 80% (if not more) of his signings did exactly what they were brought in for

Looking at the link, your maths is really bad, but this was not a dig at Pearson, it was pointing out that everyone no matter how good or bad gets transfers wrong on occasion.

Rachid Ghezzal 2.0. I really hope the rumour is nothing more than paper talk. The fan base and the squad needs someone who will improve the starting XI to spark new life into the team. But this would just be another bench warmer. Very hard to be excited by this (if it's true).

Do you think Pearson was signing lads for the Unders? I'd suggest your logic is really bad.

We’ve done a brilliant job of setting the narrative that we’re broke

so much so that clubs like newcastle and West Ham have been convinced that they could sniff around our players at cut prices

that could well work in our favour as we go shopping this week

BUT come Friday morning, it may well be that we realise that we actually are brassic !
