Seem to be going down the Bennett level of signings again now. I thought the club were strong enough to not be lured in to this. Rather sign no one.

If we keep signing shite players eventually we will go down.

whilst I agree somewhat to your point, it’s the supposed ‘ talented’ players that are destroying the soul of this club with their wantaway attitudes.

So we are in for a player who isn't even in the squad at a club who is third bottom of the Bundesliga!!!  Marvolous.

Chelsea are about to sign a player who isn't even in the squad at a club at the bottom of the Premier League

Reading up on him it looks like he’s very up and down. Seems to have periods when he’s brilliant and obviously has talent, but then seems to end up off the rails.

The Bundesliga young player of the year for 17/18 but also worry about what looks from a distance at least like a move away from the signing of players as much due to character as anything which has served us so well.

It’s obviously a gamble but maybe with our situation of having little money and very little time, a gamble for someone unwanted is all we can afford.

Can I ask a question

if he did well at Marseille last season, why didn’t they try and buy him (or at least loan again) this season ??

I’ve seen reports they were interested in him after a strong finish to the season, but he’d also been indifferent before that. They might think it was a gamble they didn’t need to make.

Exactly. 1 goal contribution every 4 games in a poor French league for one of the top clubs

Monaco fans said Ghezzal was shit and he was, Shalke fans say this kid is also shit.

Monaco fans also said Tielemans was shit. Swings and roundabouts. Each team is different, their management is different. Motivation and confidence is different with who you're around. If he plays and he's bad, then yes, we can bitch and complain, but until then let's wait and see.

Was Fuchs a shalke cast off ??  Of sorts ….

Not really, he was a regular for them in a champions League side they had back then.

It’s the reported discipline issues that’s eye watering….. not a character we really need in the team.

We obviously couldn't afford Lookman so he will have to do.

It might not have been the case that we couldn't afford him. We might not have wanted him.

By the looks of it we don’t have many options, which is no surprise as we’ve not been able to sign anyone and all our targets are probably long gone with a few days left of the window. Why people expected any different is laughable, we’re not splashing out on anyone and this player is clearly a huge risk but signing a top player isn’t as easy as football manager.

Leicester City could solve a couple of problems, should they complete the signing of Schalke star Amine Harit, who they have shown an interest in.

Leicester have been one of the quieter sides in the Premier League during the summer transfer window. Indeed, the Foxes have brought in just one player: Alex Smithies.

They have not started the season in the best form. The King Power outfit currently sit 19th in the Premier League, after picking up one point from three games.

Recruiting a fresh face or two might help them to get out of the tough spot they find themselves in.

German outlet Bild reports that Leicester have ‘signalled their interest’ in Schalke midfielder Harit.

Not only might that help the Foxes out, it could also take a weight off Schalke. The report states the German side want to ‘remove’ Harit from their payroll, given financial troubles.

He spent last season on loan at Marseille, which offered Schalke a shirt-term fix. The report states they were hoping the Ligue 1 side would take him off their hands, but they are not willing to spend the required sum.

As such, Schalke will hope that Leicester are indeed keen on taking Harit on board.

He will apparently cost around €10million (£8.5million). That should not be a problem to the Foxes, who have spent nothing so far this window.

As such, they may be able to help Schalke out of their predicament, and end up with a decent player, too.

Harit could add to Leicester quality

Adding Harit into the Leicester side could add to the quality that they already have. Indeed, the Morocco international contributed to eight goals last season, and has twice contributed to 10 league goals during a season in his career.

Given Leicester to finish off games this season – losing a two-goal lead against Brentford, and then drawing the next two Premier League games – adding another player with attacking talent may not be a bad plan.

Indeed, failing to score against Stockport County after 26 shots also shows the need for more quality.

Another reason for Harit seeming a good signing is the form of James Maddison. While the two might not play in the same side, given they operate in the same area, Leicester will want to give him support.

They will also not want a drop-off in quality when he does not play. There is also a chance that he leaves for a bigger side at some point, given he has performed consistently for a few seasons.

Having a ready-made replacement in the side will be a bonus if that does happen.

Remember when personality and being a good fit for the dressing room used to be an important trait when we scouted players?

2017 attitude problems at Nantes

2018 found guilty of fatally injuring a pedestrian after letting a 14 year old drive his car

2019 Not allowed to travel to Schalke’s winter training camp, as punishment for poor discipline

2019 Schalke boss Tedesco hits out at Harit for his lack of professionalism

Fair enough if he’s rehabilitated and changed for the better but it doesn’t look good on paper. Looking at Schalke fans comments online and they bring up his poor attitude a lot :nono:.

Really struggling to get excited by this, usually I get excited by anyone, especially this close to the end of the window, but this screams a nothing player. If it’s for cover/Perez replacement then fair enough, but please don’t be our main winger signing.
