We took our dog for a walk across fields between Desford and Botcheston earlier when it was still frosty with bright sunshine, and it was quite a lovely experience.

You should be greatfull for global warming. Perhaps by the time you are 346 years old winters will be 20 degrees so you will be nice n cosy

Could pop into the tyre place on the way and spend best part of 700 quid on all seasons tyres I suppose

Put it in reverse and drive backwards.   Less chance of skidding then.

I remember driving along the Leicester ring road one snowy morning and everyone was in the nearside lane because it had been cleared by traffic... except one car that came flying past me, it's wheels not turning (back in the days when ABS wasn't standard) and a look of abject terror in his face  

 

He was fine, there was a good 100m plus before he absolutely needed to stop

 

Reminded me of Steve Martin's face in Trains, Planes and Automobiles, when he turns to see John Candy as the devil.

I don't mind the cold. The dry air is hell for causing nosebleeds though.

My missus was adamant our boiler had broke a few weeks before Christmas, so she called an emergency plumber out whilst I was at work

She'd knocked the off switch with the toaster.
