What is all this 1976 lark. I’ve never heard a single happy clapper talk about 1976

It was a very hot and dry summer. A special Minister of Drought was appointed

What about Long Hot Summer, featuring Weller (Paul, not Keith)?

Dennis Howell was the most successful minister ever as the drought ended a few weeks after his appointment. He was later made Minister for Snow.

Please let me know if you want any more trivia (like where the word "trivia" comes from)

Definitely the worst it’s been so far in Norfolk. Absolutely no breeze today whereas there had been the previous two days.

You’re breaking the June temp record there this afternoon

but due to cuts, there are very few official recording stations there so it probably won’t be accepted.

My phone is saying 35. Luckily I’m working from home today and got the house nice & cool.

Brought the bins back in and was instantly dripping in sweat. Thankfully got it back down under 30 tomorrow!

Was driving past the north shore of Rutland Water the other night and there was a helicopter circling above with a lot of blue flashing lights on the bank. Hoping to not read similar news to this but i'd imagine it would have already made the news by now if it was as bad as it looked.

I’ve been to Winterton cricket ground a few times and there’s always a great breeze there!

Im just outside Loddon and it’s unbearable. I’ve only been outside a few times and the energy is instantly zapped from me.

And that's the hottest it's going to feel thankfully.

Been unbearable last few days. Especially around this time of day when the heat has just absorbed into everything in the home.

Kimberley Walsh, what a woman she is by the way. The underrated metronome of Girls Aloud

Properly had enough of it now. Making me snappy. Can't concentrate working. Gagging for Sunday when the temperature drops off a lot.

Genuinely questioning how human populations in hot countries ever grew. I've been the least horny I've ever been in my adult life.
