Annoyingly ive got a heat pump but they installed one which only does hot. Clever way of doing it as sound like it just cools the water and pumps it around.

Was hotter and blue skies earlier but a white sky now. 

Not seen this in about two months.

Air con was on this morning but went off quickly as people were cold. Three hours in an air conless room before it was briefly switched back on until we had the final hour and a half without it again.

 

Just bring on winter.

I think official temperature readings are taken in shaded areas therefore it could well be hotter.

unprecedented since records have been kept in uk 

 

First time that 38c+ has been recorded in separate months in same summer 

 

but 1976 blah blah 

 

suspect you’d have to go back to the Middle Ages (800/1000 years ago)  to find something comparable but we can’t know for sure just how hot it got in nw Europe 

all I can see is raj’s dripping Maltesers) !

Matt LeTissier said it’s summer and it’s normal and we should all just get on with it. I’d rather believe him than the woke leftie met office blob who are trying to destroy our fun. 1976 was much worse than this and I just drank Newcy Brown to get through it.

I haven’t heard about them causing damp. As above, they actually automatically dehumidify during the cooling cycle. There is a different method of aircon out here which employs water evaporation (called evaporative aircon). As the water evaporates it cools the air but also increases humidity so may cause damp. It is cheaper to run as there is no compressor but is ineffective if the air is already fully saturated (I.e. humid).

Also.i cant remember  the last time we had a proper cold white winter.

It just rains and is grey.

There aren’t many in serious positions who deny the warming now - though some of the foot soldiers have been a little slow on the uptake 

they just say it’s natural variation in the climate and nowt to do with us

Where in Cornwall are you? We were down there in June, had nice weather in Bude, went down to Hayle for a few days and it was just grey and rainy. We had picked the site for beach proximity but never really got on. Then went up to Devon and it was lovely.

 

Meanwhile back home it was 20+ and sunny…

Sister in Law and husband have had a bungalow built to their own spec. it includes a GSHP that will heat and cool the house.

 

Unfortunately the system relies on Wi-Fi connectivity and they haven't got that as yet so the system can't communicate temperature levels.

 

BT have been dreadful in installing wifi and a router, cancelling dates several times at the last minute.

I'm two miles inland from Perranporth. It's been stunning for weeks on end like everywhere else. Can't remember the last time it wasn't a clear blue sky but just this afternoon it's turned a little. Not cold but there's kinda a feeling of moisture in the air without rain.
