What are the odds in him saying he's not happy we didn't have more possession? lol

Didn't see the game but a glace at the stats that actually mean something, well, that's the way to play football, clinical, economical, possession with purpose, effective football.

Leicester of old.

I know but I just feel Soumare and Amarty combo will be too scary defensively against them.

Sort of got the idea that maybe Brendan is bringing Papy on to shore things up rather than going to his feckless 5 at the back. :dunno:

Bizarre game.

We were all over the place at the start of both halves, and it should still be a cause for concern how open we are in the middle of the pitch at times. Not helped by not winning enough duels either, but that's nothing new.

Still, we looked dangerous every time we turned the ball over, and unlike Wolves, we have the quality players in attacking areas to actually convert the chances we make.

JJ had his best game for a while, and Faes good again. Ward a pleasant surprise and made key saves at key times.

Whilst Soumare has been improving a bit, I think I'd get Mendy into the side to see if it shores things up a bit more as he has more awareness out of possession. A top defensive midfielder would be the biggest improvement we could make to the outfield line up at the moment.

Don't think I'm necessarily convinced we've completely turned a corner. The combination of our attacking quality and defensive shakiness will lead to inconsistency.

2 and Wolves were still creating chances. Maddison goes into the 10 position and scores minutes later. Praet and Castagne combined on the right for the 4th.

We looked so much more balanced and solid defensively with that formation.

Oh I know, Dennis didn’t do anything to deserve being dropped, but Madders was always coming back in, and replacing KDH which I also supported would have been wrong after the first half display, so….it was weird game, but worked out well even if uncomfortable viewing!

One of the more enjoyable aspects (other than thrashing them) was how we played. Didn't seem like the boring monotonous possession football. Was a proper shithouse counter attacking game of old. Loved it

It’s nice to have the option to change it up and not have to put the same team out for 90 minutes. Glad KDH only got 60 minutes today

6 points in 4 days, the confidence that will bring and hopefully whatever happens vs Man City they're realistic enough to not let it affect them. Aways to Everton and West Ham don't sound as tough as they did a week ago.

Leicester of old. Soak up the pressure and counter attack brilliantly

Think 2015/16. We never had the majority of possession but pissed the league

Although my ST is in the family stand, I do buy the better seats for the Cups. Tbf, I see/hear Rodgers screaming "pass it forward!" quite a lot.

I've seen him do this too. But the reason it happens is because on the training pitch, losing possession is seen as a crime, so players prefer the safe pass.

When I play in real life, I am a complete Rodgers player, sideways and back all day long lol! Even my friends say I am the only player on the pitch that will make a killer 30 yard backwards pass when in the final third. Great pass completion stats though!
