What do you mean by 'none of the managers'.

 

Rodgers gave him his first team debut at 16 in January 2022. He got injured in the December of that year. Maybe he could have played more games in the league cup but he was still very young.

 

Dean Smith couldn't pick him due to injury.

 

He only came back under Maresca for the last couple of games.

 

Cooper is the first manager to have him available and ready and not give him a fair shake.

 

Van Nistelrooy has had him on the bench for the last couple of games and gave him his PL debut. It feels like he's finally getting his chance.

 

Out of all our managers Cooper is the first and only manager to seemingly not rate him based on not giving him minutes in pre season.

Either our fans rate him far more highly than he actually is (It has been know with "one of our own" or even hyping up a new signing) or he needs to leave.

 

I applaud any youngster that leaves a top club to find first team opportunities, little old Leicester City are certainly no different.

 

Yes he's had an injury, a bad one at that, but at 19, you'd have though he'd have broke through by now getting more opportunities than not if he is of the quality.

Club probably felt they needed to oversee his continuing recovery/rehabilitation. Fans haven't seen his scans, or spoken to our medical staff. 

 

That said, I would hope we'll see Alves out on a good loan (L1?) for the remainder of the season.

He made a mistake signing a contract until 2028 as he doesn’t have the option of moving for free for another 3 and a half years. Unfortunately by that time, his career will have pretty much been stifled too much to make it at a decent level.

Absolutely pathetic not playing him today. We've two huge league games in a week and no new signings either. I really hope there's a loan move lined up for him imminently rather than leaving him out for the some of those on the bench who we hope will be off by the end of January.

You’ve got no hope of being a youth player and making it at this club for the past few years. They were actively blocking one of the young lads going out on loan in the summer (they let him go finally at end of the window). Why? Just let the lad go and get some first team football. 
 

We are so badly run they’re all useless.

By that logic he isn't is as good as Luke Thomas was at that age. No wonder he is not getting a look in.

 

But seriously, if he had started today it would have been for one of Facundo or Bilal, and we still want to moan at Ruud?

Nonsense. KDH didn't play a senior game until he was 21. Will is 19. He needs a senior loan.

I agree but I’m going on the basis we seem to be completely unbothered by getting him out on loan either so he is just stagnating.

Imo if Alves was showing enough in training he'd be playing, he's clearly talented but noone is seeing enough to play him. Needs to go on loan, wherever it may be and see what he's got.

Ruud said two weeks ago he's been excellent in training. The culture at our club is diabolical and it's got to change.

Bobby DCR came on and did about 3 things. Lost the ball once going down to win a free kick under zero pressure, won a free kick from a pull back, then took the ball off Justin and promptly lost it in the build up to Faes's goal. I think Alves would be capable of surpassing that low level of positive impact.

He's probably publicly said Ward is a good goalkeeper as well,.I wouldn't believe anything he says. If he was showing more in training than the alternatives he'd absolutely be starting.

Yeah hence why I’d like to see Alves on loan somewhere.

 

I don’t trust who our club thinks is highly rated.
 

We didn’t rate Calvin Bassey too highly and he turned out not to be too bad of a player. Starts for Fulham would take him over our CBs
 

Eitherway usually when an acedemy player is good enough for us to make a real difference like Chilwell, KDH or Barnes they force their way in.

Pretty sure it has been said that Bassey left because at the time he was a left back but we wanted to develop him as a centre back and he didn’t want that so sodded off to Rangers

Poor from the club though because it's clear he's a better CB than what we have now.

But the club wanted to develop him as a centre back?

 

It was him at the time who didn’t want to do it (and still ended up becoming one)
