Stadium atmosphere

Recommended Posts

I really think tomorrow if we are winning UFS should take the opportunity to try and get the place bouncing with let’s all have a disco. Maybe there is a fear that with are fanbase it wouldn’t get round but I’d still try as it’s a great opportunity. Look at Leeds they started doing there let’s go ****ing mental at home after a huge game when they beat Ipswich.

Coady on the OS:

“The lads have spoken about it. This place is where we want to play football. We’d play here every week if we could. To be on the pitch and play in front of the crowd is fantastic. The supporters understand how much we need them at this moment in time.

“We understand what is at stake, what we’re all playing for, what the supporters want and how they turn up to support us every week. There is a focus within that dressing room and that is the most important thing moving forward.

“We had four games; we’ve won the first one and now we’ve got three. It’s a huge on Tuesday against a real top side and we’ll need this crowd more than ever. Tuesday night under the lights, it can’t be better, so it’s something that we’re really looking forward to.”

He's a good lad and looks to get it.

Show us how much it matters like Saturday and we'll back them all the way

I sit in SK1 just in front of the UFS section who were unreal against West Brom.

Same again tonight and hopefully the place will be bouncing again

Let’s get the lads over the line!

Nearly all the original UFS guys came out of L1 because they were fed up of the "banter". I'd say there's next to no desire to go back.

To be honest I would side with @Bergen fox  here, as generally speaking being close to the away fans adds an extra edge. Union FS seem to emphasise the point about the banter/gesturing, but that's only one side to it. There's no signs of the SK1 section expanding anytime soon and unless the club follow what Southampton have done, it's unlikely to ever become one whole stand. So with that in mind, surely it's about maximising the configuration as it is especially with no timeline on the expansion. Granted, the club probably wouldn't facilitate any relocation of fans anyway, but there's clearly a level of support for the notion that the section could be more effective in a different place.

So despite the clubs utter incompetence if we as fans don’t push for change we still may get no change but surely we should try that’s better than doing nothing

Fair enough, if there's enough people that want it in another place maybe they could get organised and push for something in another area. UFS don't have a monopoly on the atmosphere.

I think realistically any area will need UFS to really get it going.

If this was the case L1 would be rocking every week. It hasn't rocked since maybe 17/18. Call it SK1, the singing section or whatever but they're the only guys making noise, hence the players go to that corner first after every game. The club deliberately put the away fans on the opposite corner to get rid of the "banter" - coins being exchanged, trouble after the game etc - that Filbert Street suffered from. Nothing is going to move and SK1 is where the noise is.

Bring it on tonight.

Then it's going to be at the kop end, like I say there's very little if any interest in being near the away fans within the group, it's one of the reasons it was set up in the first place.

Like I say there's nothing stopping other going down a different route, UFS started from very little so there's no reason it can't happen again if there's people that have the genuine drive to get something similar organised in another area.

Long shot but put another group in the opposite corner in the west stand?

Speaking from someone who does live sound and acoustics, you want your sound balanced. Even 2 groups of 150-200 placed strategically can make a difference.

It would also have the effect of countering away fans. They won't be directly adjacent but you'd have 2 complementary points of vocal support for home and only 1 for away.
