Birmingham are sinking like a stone. Lost their last 5 in the league. Blackburn are in the playoffs but are very inconsistent (won 14, lost 13). We should be dispatching either of these teams fairly comfortably.

We say that but did only just get past a very poor Gillingham side, who at that point only scored seven goals all season.

Why do we have to make it clear we’re not winning the FA Cup?
We’re still in it, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea already gone.

A good draw gives us the chance of making the last 8.

Once your in the last 8 it’s anyones… not saying we’re definitely going to win it, and the 2 Manchester clubs are big favourites, but let’s not write us off just yet.

Maybe read the message I’m replying to to get some context.

Win this, and avoid Man City, Man Utd and Spurs every chance of a semi final…..Fulham Leeds Brighton Southampton and one of the Luton four home or away we have a decent chance….

Are you & other fans serious….!
When does FT ever learn…

This is the…FA.cup..   Form goes out the window, the “shoulds” are for other dimensions & creations in life..

The FA.cup is the giant killers aspiration  of all 8yr - 99yr old boys dreams..

What are you even trying to put across with this ludicrous comment, that as fallen on its sword for over 100years…Have you put in an application for a position at the

Daily Mail or The Sun….:crylaugh:

Home to Birmingham always reminds me of the December 1976 game played on an ice rink of a pitch. We'd not got the right footwear on to start with, and we were defending the icy end. Birmingham were 6-0 up before we pulled two back.

After half-time there was something going on about the next player to score for them won a mini, only for Dennis Rofe to score an own goal. Kenny Burns scored a hatrick for them. It should never have been played. City players could bearly stand up.

Always enjoyed beating Birmingham ever since.

Doesn't seem that long ago when we thought we'd have a decent chance against anyone albeit Manchester City would have been a tough nut. Now we pray for a bye almost to the final. Would it be worth it?

And it doesn't seem that long ago before *that* we'd be loving being in the 5th round and with a decent draw to progress further.

Just goes to show, wheel never stops turning.

We're winning this again aren't we?

If we keep drawing teams like we do, then most possibly!

If we carry on this streak we will get Luton%Grimsby in the final!!

Yes, very true in fairness. I think then though, albeit underdogs, we looked forward to a blood and thunder performance. Now, we barely scrape past the mighty Gillingham and Walsall following a snorefest.

Reading through some of these posts reminds me why the FA Cup should always be taken seriously. Nothing else can inject a bit of life and hope into a shit season like this competition.

Didn't realise the replay is tonight. Think Blackburn will get through.

I wondered why that was but after looking at both teams fixtures, Blackburn play Monday 6th and Birmingham Friday 10th so was impossible to play next week.
