Gutted about this one. He has come back into the side recently and our form has upturned again, dropped him again after world cup, dropped in form, forced to play him again and we got a draw and a win.

He's fantastic at bombing up and down that right wing, defensively and attacking, he has the ability to play direct passes that lead to us finding space beyond opposition defences.

We will miss him I feel. There are no leaders in this team at all.

This is revisionism. In the league, he’s played on three occasions more than 15 minutes and we have 1 point out of 9.

Alternatively, Rodgers should use him more. We look a better team with him in the side, always have.

Well l totally agree, but you, me, lovely kevin and several thousand others know that one man doesn't!

Have we not learnt anything from letting Kasper go?

We lack leaders. Albrighton is a leader, and now we've let him go.

You can't go moaning about how some players are not performing up to standards as they haven't go their big money move, then make one of these players you're hinting at captain (Youri) and then ship out one of the few players in your dressing room who are giving 100% and set the standards for the team.

The hypocrisy is alarming and I'm very worried about how this club is being managed.

Absolute shocking decision for him to go. Can’t blame him for wanting more game time, Rodgers should have used him more

When he did use him in the league this season, we lost to newly promoted teams in Fulham and Forest.

The signs were there away at PSV and home to Roma.

You can criticise this decision from a leadership POV - I just don't see it on a 'cover' or footballing ability opinion

Lol...players are actually people you know!

And whats more FREE people not captive slaves!

The bloke gave fantastic service and wants to play and for his kids to watch him, what sort of b@stard would deny him that on the off chance of the occasional appearance?

Imagine the comments Rodgers would get for that!

Nobody is denying he should be able to move if he wants to, that's up to him

But the idea that he has done this "to be closer to his family" is ridiculous tbh, Birmingham is half an hour away from Leicester, it's not like he's traveling halfway across the country every time we play is it

Great bit of business for West Brom...would love them to get promotion on the back of this...seems to be a good connection between the two clubs as the loan of Harvey Barnes worked well.

Albrighton looks as though he could play on for another 2 or 3 years...taken good care of himself and not particuarly injury prone..Similar to likes of Thiago and Milner..can understand him wanting regular game time, he doesnt want to spend his last few seasons sitting on the bench..I think we will miss him more than he will miss us ,he is a great type of character to have at any club

Yes and no. WBA Training Ground is North of Birmingham, not far from Walsall and Sutton Coldfield. He's likely to live in the latter or somewhere like Little Aston.

Seagrave would be a good hour and a bit because of how east it is compared to Belvoir Drive. Belvoir Dr would have took him 40 to 45 mins

Post by commuter between the two cities.

Would people rather he stayed here until he's 38 and hated because he offers nothing and gets dogs abuse every day. It's already starting with vardy, people giving him a load of shit because he's not the player he was 5 years ago.

It's football, nothing personal with him but we have to move forward.

Don't get me wrong, I do respect him for it, love him even!

But I was told that phrase a long time ago at work and it's true, try a hard as you can but if you're end product isn't what is expected of you then sorry you're out.

I'm sure everyone loves nige, Morgan, Fuchs, Kasper ect ect but you have to recognise when to draw a line under it and call it a day. Because it gets to a point where that respect get outweighed by bad performances. Allntou have to do is look on here at some of the comments against vardy this season, there's not a single person who doesn't love him but there's only so much you can take before it sours

I totally agree with this, I think with Vardy there are better options on the pitch, with Albrighton it's debatable when you play a midfielder there I.e. Maddison and you end up with Soumare in midfield or somebody who doesn't want to be there, I.e. Perez. With Albrighton he wants to play, and let's be honest, the ball control for the goal against Brighton was pretty impressive.

Plus it's a little sad to know that apart from Vardy, there is nobody left from the title winning team.

for all the slayers of Rodgers this is what man management looks like, they both know Sharky wasn't going to feature much & more so with the signing of Tete so with him saying to Rodgers i want to play more i'm 33yrs old they have agreed he can go on loan, it's not in Rodgers best interest to let him go but he sees that it is in Albrightons best interest to go that's what good people managers do but still Rodgers will be called the clown.

That's some spin! Just doing whatever people what isn't good people management. I'm trying to say that Brendan has got it all wrong here in terms of consequences, just pointing it out that neither you, me, nor anyone else can say if it's good people management from him.

why is it spin? If Kevin wasn't 33 but 25 & asked to go out on loan to play i very much doubt he would be going but he & Rodgers know where he's at & respecting that & what he's done for the club he's not being an a'hole & keeping him here to sit on the bench as a 3rd replacement, in my opinion then, that is good people/man management.

What's the consequence 4 or 5 players are going to need to have sustained injuries all at the same time to start worry about Albrighton being somewhere else, hey maybe there's even a recall option just incase we do get into that position  :dunno:

You have to let go of the old leaders…of 7-10yrs,we need a new group,a new start

a creation  of a new beginning…

I always acknowledged Albrighton, and hurts a little he is going..but a club can’t be open to a free hanging or critic, when the last remnants of a great era ,are moved on…

I ain’t worried how we are being managed, I am not a fan that finds an excuse to moan on taking a new turn…One can build up so much nonsense when the club

takes a nose dive..fans looking for all reasons why…

On this ,the club deserves some slack & that wedge of understanding..

It will take a 2-5 games before we see the new boys, take their first major steps in

stamping their skills & character  into the side..hoping that will combine well with our good quality of squad…Time will tell, and that’s what I will give, before getting the sharp-shooter out and just moan & whine..

We can’t mix it with the big boys, but like we did before ,and like Brighton, not Newcastle( who have a massive journalist support), try and progress on the humble & quiet side…
Its a new start,a new turn of the page, the fans have to get on side,no matter how small the steps are,and who will be moved on..

If he wants to play then good luck to him. If he doesn't play for us again he's been a great servant, worked his bollocks off for the club, scored some great and iconic goals and just seemed a top bloke.

One of our heroes.

Albrighton was never the quickest but now it's just worse due to his age. He can't run. The ball inside him away at Newcastle in the League Cup as an example, there was only ever one outcome.

He’s worse than Puel.

Can't stand still in football. Can't just keep players here on past glories. All top managers will tell you the same, the squad needs to constantly change.

FYI the only title winners that left under Puel were Ulloa, Mahrez (who he wouldn't have want to lose) and Huth (retired). King went out on loan.
