Said in the prematch thread, our midfield was the weak spot against villa and, on balance, youri is probably the one to drop, at least to start the match.

 

Shame he's not available to come on after 60, but it's not the end of the world.

Obviously this depends on Mendy having a good game, but yeah on the face of it I'm a struggling to see it as a 'huge loss'. Forced or not, it attempts to address our main problem last week, and I don't think Youri contributed enough creatively to worry about that side of our game being kaiboshed

Mendy makes me think we'll be playing the possession game. Would have preferred Ndidi but then that's not an amazing option given his form either. The second game for our new look defence.
