Captaincy

Been thinking - I think some of our issue is the captaincy. Too many players have been captain and it’s not one voice. Evans, Albrighton, Tielemens, Ndidi, Vardy, Maddison all have lead the team. There’s no consistency in who it is. 
 

I know our issues are many and this isn’t the main issue, but it can’t help. We need someone with balls to take it next season. We have team of soft players. 
 

just a thought I wanted to share.

If it had been shared between all of our biggest players in the dressing room a couple of years ago they'd be no issue. There we enough players to look up to.

 

Give it someone like Tielemans who has wanted to leave for ages and shows up when he wants, and then give it any ****er who's been here longer than a year and you get issues.

No point having a captain with our squad. All the players given captaincy either want to leave, are always injured, are always shit or just past it. May as well give it to a fan.

Just shows how much of a facking mess we really are when a young 20 year old viktor comes in and his attitude is head and shoulders above everyone else at the club.

I feel like Faes has already been here too long and has already been infected by Rodgeritis. That's why he shouldn't be given new players

The captaincy sums up our season - from being owned by an ever present for 54 years it's given to a bloke who's spent 18 months in/out the treatment room. The vice cap was left open and then given to a guy who Rodgers barely ever starts. After being given the vice cap he was picked even less sometimes not even benched. The captain - surprise surprise - then gets injured, there's no vice on the bench so it's lumped with a guy who's leaving in the summer. As that players form inevitably dips, the vice cap appears for a handful of games to take the armband but then he's loaned to the championship.

 

Since then the poor old armband worn with pride by Gibson, Nish, Walsh, Elliott and countless others is passed around another 4 players like a cheap hooker. We're leaderless in the boardroom, leaderless in the managers office and leaderless on the pitch.

I don’t feel comfortable Maddison being captain tbf, a player who is definitely leaving in 3 months should not be captain, actually none of them Warrant the captains armband

It’s embarrassing, it is literally being run like an U7’s grassroots team, where each week, a different player gets to be captain. Amateurish beyond words.

Lack of leadership is a major issue. Our performances before the World Cup showed our potential, but the majority of games the players and manager walk around in a daze, believing they are not good enough and waiting for the inevitable loss. I honestly believe having a single player or manager who could lead would make a massive difference or a sports psychologist

I don’t think lack of leadership is the issue, it’s the type of player. We have to many soft players.
