Sticky plaster time. Pointless hunting for long term appointment, 4 year deals. It's who ever can stabilise us quickly and get the job of survival done. Needs to be a manager who has experience of working with nothing.

Be that Rafa, be that whoever. Then hopefully breath a big sigh of releif and plan properly over the summer with someone who can manage a rebuild, hopefully not at championship level.

Marcelo Bielsa ……… please.

Would like him but our lads can’t run like he had Leeds. We’re currently 5 yards off our opponents, he might get us up to 3 yards off it!

Vincent Kompany.

Wouldn't touch it - on the verge of the title with Burnley!

Hopefully someone waiting in the wings already, Stowell needs to follow him out of the door, nothing more than a goalkeeping coach who should have been banging the Iversen drum long before he finally got the nod.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is the 5/1 favourite to succeed Rodgers, with Postecoglou rated as the 17/2 second favourite. Other managers listed as early contenders by the bookmakers include Rafael Benitez (9/1), Marcelo Bielsa (10/1), Mauricio Pocchetino (10/1) and Ralph Hasenhuttl (10/1). Neil Lennon, formerly of Celtic an ex-Leicester player, is rated at 16/1.

Let's be honest here....

No one worth anything will come in long term in our position.

No one will leave a job to come in short term.

We won't appoint someone short term who doesn't have PL experience to fight a relegation battle.

So in reality, we are looking at someone for the next 10 games who has managed in the PL before and is out of a job and those options aren't great.

I can see us going for any one of Kompany, Carrick or Franck. Not that any would be overly willing to leave their current positions to come here.

Brentford are pushing for Europe no way Frank comes here.

Betting odds just feel like a perpetual thought experiment. No chance Frank leaves Brentford in their most successful season in the Premier to come here.

None of the promotion chasing Championship managers would come here. Until the end of the season, probably has to be someone out of work.

Wouldn't surprise me if the club do go down the Gerrard/Lampard/Scott Parker route

Personally maybe O'Neill in a very short stint could do a Hodgson for us
