Dean Smith and Craig Shakespeare's Blue Army!

Nigel Worthington was an underwhelming appointment too. But he had a short term goal and did what he had to do, with probably a worse and more demotivated team than the one that went down the following season.

We know we couldn't carry on with what we saw on Saturday, so let's just do what we can to encourage them  over the line and hope there's a better strategy for the summer.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I don’t care what fans of Villa and Norwich think about Smith and co. If by some miracle he keeps us up, he’ll be a Leicester hero.

Let’s do all we can to back him and hope that he can sufficiently motivate this team of underachieving softies and clean up the mess that Rodgers left behind.

Leicester hero, please stop with this shit. Rodger’s was one and he got thrown under the hatred bus and so will him. Why do people continue to hype appointments. It’s dean smith lol…

I think it dawned on the club what a disastrous decision handing a 3 year deal to the likes of Jesse Marsch would have been with the club not sure which division it would be in next season - after industrial scale bad decision making at the club this is at least a good and the right decision.

Nigel Worthington and Brendan Rodgers are literally cousins. Let’s hope a Norwich City cast off(yes I know O’Neill is one), saved us.

It was a much worse team and highly demotivated, but this is the Premier League and is not remotely comparable.

This what ever you think of him as a person, not a lot, He knows how to defend and organize a defence.

The very best English CB of the last twenty five years. He can certainly tell our bunch what to do but I am not sure they know how. However with him and Jonny around it can't hurt. I would be surprised though if he can be bothered.

I think in the circumstances, number of games etc. this is the best we could hope for.  Terry, although a horrible human, from a purely footballing perspective will have respect in the dressing room, something Jesse would never have had.  Shakespeare knows the club, and Smith is sufficiently no nonsense.  Short term deal gives them only upside while for us gives flexibility in the Summer to rebuild, be it in either league.

Nothing to be delighted with but I think we've done ok.

He has to be a better defensive coach than Kolo Toure. I understand why people dislike him but he really knew how to defend which we need to have a chance of staying up.

That's cool. Dean Smith is also a different person.

Point is, there's a new team with just a short term goal to focus on, and it's not who was in charge on Saturday, that's enough for me right now.

He took over at Norwich in November... They weren't anywhere near done.

Yes they were. They'd spent next to fk all on players again and lost about 6 games they should have won. He's inheriting a squad here nothing like as bad as that and with Tielemans coming back in the next week or two.

They have my backing because frankly we need them to succeed and they can't be any worse than SAS and the mess we're in.

Don't forget JT's integrity when it comes to his mate's wives and girlfriends. But from a footballing perspective they are a good group to keep LCFC in the PL

They are not.

So I presume the 11th hour person who made the difference was John Terry joining the team. Really does make a huge difference to the stature of this appointment.

Wonder with these 3 coming in that Sadler gets the boot. The fact the team was leaked quite early for the Bournemouth game indicates that there must have been some internal dissatisfaction with the selection.

What a start they have. A free pass against Man City.

Ffs, it’s not a lost cause. We have a squad full of internationals and are 2 points from safety. It’s going to hard and not pretty, but it can be done. And if we do it we can do it at the expense of Forest and Everton. Imagine it, these 3 not only saving us but ensuring those 2 clubs go down.

We all need to dust ourselves down and get ready for the fight. JT is the nasty bastard we need and Dean Smith is the manager who can eradicate Brendan ball from LCFC.

Let’s do this!

Totally agree, if I'm one of the clubs down there other than Leicester I'm looking at Leicester's squad and thinking they certainly have the players to win four games or so and pull themselves out.

Whether we will or not is another matter but the squad is more or less the same squad that won an FA Cup and just missed out on Champions League two seasons on the trot. We're only 2pts from 17th.

The thing is, yes, interim caretaker - it’s 8 games, we have a lot to lose but also were heading down any way.

Problem is, with the asst. managers, this is a long term appointment. All Smith has to do is deliver one or two results and this board will hire him on a long term contract. If he keeps us up then he definitely will. That isn’t the best for Leicester City. It’s a major step backwards.

No one is dancing in the streets of Leicester about this appointment - but if Smith keeps us up after the horrors of this season under his increasingly clueless predecessor, he will deserve every bit of praise going. If he doesn’t, he won’t. How does that constitute ‘hype’?

Half decent option this to be fair.  John Terry says he will shag the wife of any player who doesn't put effort in.  Thats that part sorted.  Let's hope between Shakey and Smith that we can put some kind of plan together in terms of how to play football and we have a chance of getting out of this!
