LVFox Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 I'm oddly calm (although doubt I will be come Monday evening). If we can't beat Everton at home, adding to the fact we dropped 6 points to Saints and Bournemouth. We simply don't deserve to stay up and we have to accept our immediate future lies in the Championship. I'm confident we will play well, just need that cutting edge and some defensive stability from set pieces. 2
KFS Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 The shit thing missing will be the build up play and keeping hold of the ball. We’ll miss that from Kel against a team who won’t come to play in Everton. I trust Daka and Vards against Liverpool and Newcastle though, who will be more expansive. 1
Bluejak Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 If anyone has two spares together for Everton drop me a message!
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 28 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 28 April 2023 Dean Smith Pre-Match Press Conference vs Everton Iheanacho? “He’s not great. He’s got a tear in his adductor muscle. It puts him out for a number of weeks, but not the end of the season. It’s going to be tough to get him back." Iheanacho reaction? “He was disappointed. He’d just scored two goals and was having a good game.” Other injuries? “Jonny we’re hoping to have training tomorrow. He’s had a viral infection and then a calf injury. Ricky we’re hoping will be back soon.” Approach? “Same approach as Leeds. It’s a big game for both teams with games running out. This time we have home advantage and we want to use that.” Vardy? “From the first moment, he’s trained really well. Great appetite. Really pleased to see him get his first goal for a while. He won the penalty against Wolves. After watching Man City against Arsenal, 3-1 wasn’t a bad result there now!” Points target? “Still no target for points. It all changes. Forest won the other night. Does that target change because one team wins? We’ve just got to focus on the 15 points we have to play for.” Iheanacho blow? “It’s a blow. He came on against Man City and did ever so well. I thought he played well in the Wolves games, scoring and creating opportunities for Vards. It will be a loss but it’s a chance for others.” Look at the table? “All you can focus on is our own performances. We’ve got four points from three games. We’ll be going all out to get a win over Everton and then Fulham. We’ll look at the table after that and see where we’re at.” Pressure on players? “You can’t ever take the pressure off. They watch football, they see the scores and the tables. They know. We can make it clear with our plan and what we’re trying to do and how we’re trying to do it. If you do that, they go in calm and relaxed, but with the fire to win a game.” Four Mondays in a row? “I’m not so sure I agree with the scheduling. There’s a lot of big games to be played. I don’t think it’s right to be playing after every one.” Everton? “I thought they were good in the first half last night. The second goal took the game away from them. They were full value in the first half.” What will you do over the weekend? “I watched the game last night because we’ve got both of those teams to play. I can’t control the results so I’m not one for waiting for results to come in.” 4 1
filbertway Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 Just watched the extended highlights from last night. Either the Everton players are knackered or given up because the lack of effort some of their players were putting in was embarrassing. If we're bang up for this we could easy bag 3 or 4.
StanSP Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 I can't tell whether I'm calm or nervous. Maybe it'll be determined after the weekend's results. Bloody Mondays!
KFS Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 The Mondays thing means it’s Brendan Rodgers “iN oUr OwN hAnDs”

HighPeakFox Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 It's a huge occasion (did someone call it massive yet?) and I've got a great seat, so I am well up for this. Probably the most hyped up the KP will be since Seville 2017. 2
cruzFOX Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 It’s a home game at our KP. Let’s pile the pressure on everton! The players will do the rest. We are past the point of being nervous now we just have to go out there and fight for every ball. It’s our advantage it’s in our hands. Let’s do this foxes. 3

I think they very much threw the towel in, for the majority of the first half they were doing their best to bully Newcastle and were very physical. We’re going to have to be ready for a scrap, but if we can get the first goal they’ve shown their fragile. 4
Chelmofox Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 Wish we were going. I think will be easier to watch at the ground than on TV. Originally couldn't make the monday but then work plans changed. Complete sell out so no tickets available now. Why oh why haven't we made the KP bigger 1

How many millions would relegation cost v staying up? - No pressure then!
HeskeyForever Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 Got faith that Smith and Co will go aggressive for this one. Barnes will hopefully be back to full fitness and I wouldn't be surprised to see Daka on the right to try to stretch them. 1

Makes sense as it looked fairly even at half time and then second is when the newcastle players were running past them for fun. As good as that Iask dribble was, there was a lot of laziness from Everton players that made it possible

Hundreds of millions if you don't come straight back. With our finances we could drop again if we go down. Read Cov Leeds Sotton to mention a few. The thought of it really is scary, I personally think if we go down we are not best fit for a quick return. Stay up I see us fighting next season, just slightly better off than this season. 1

We haven't scored first at home for over 6 months. Discounting the game against Newport in the EFL Cup we've conceded first in the last 10 home matches in all competitions! Amazingly, a Leicester player has not scored a single goal in the first 20 minutes of a home game this season. Our only goal in that period was an own goal by Robin Koch of Leeds.
ARM1968 Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 I’m strangely ambivalent. Probably self preservation I imagine, but I’m not unduly concerned. Might even be more pressure on Everton. What will be will be. 1

Larry_LCFC Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 Boils down to mentality ultimately and who wants it more. We have enough talent in our squad to beat these but then the same could be said about most of our recent games against the bottom half that we've lost. Make no mistake, lose this and we are down.

If I went for this ,which I believe will be the team.. I reckon I would change Vardy for Daka…Vardy knows that job and when to cross ( still one of our best crossers) and also how to take/exchange those central channels positions.
SK3Blue Posted 28 April 2023 Posted 28 April 2023 Everton will be fighting for everything after last night's hammering, but they have very little quality. Keane was awful, I think Vardy sees us home in this one. 3 points.
