I'm waiting for the criticism of Iversen for letting 2 goals in.

I actually thought if we had 11 players like Iverson we'd of won that game by about 3 goals, absolutely brilliant tonight, he relished the situation and made some impressive saves.

Just after the game it’s always more vitriol. Thing with Madders is that he also cost us v Bournemouth. He has to start and play because he’s class, but you can’t deny he’s cost us points recently.

I'm not sure he has to start, the balance in midfield is awful, if he starts it needs to be as an attacker with zero defensive responsibility, there really isn't a need for Maddison to be taking any touches in his own half.

Yet he also contributes to goals against Leeds and Everton. Can't point out one and ignore the other.

We'd be completely dead and buried if it wasn't for his contribution so far this season.
He might be off in the summer, he might rub some people the wrong way, but he's still our most productive attacking player and (especially with Nacho out) we need to support him and the rest of the team as best we can.

The easiest way for the OP to answer the question themselves would be to take a look at the league table, then maybe rewatch the full 90 minutes of that match and perhaps take in some of the highlights of the 20 league defeats we’ve suffered this season. That will probably best explain why fans are currently struggling not to focus on the negative aspects of the players.

Much love back but I thought he overplayed it regularly and kept losing it. Didn't play the obvious passes. Still love him but thought he was ropey second half.

Then again, I thought Daka played well, so what do I know? lol

He did. Daka did gud.

Daka tried hard but one thing he definitely wasn’t today was good!

Tracked back, stuck in tackles, played a range of decent passes, and was 100% behind the cause.

But yeh, apart from that essential stuff he was a bit gash.

No he’s right-Daka was poor. Your sarcasm is misplaced.

Tracking back and getting stuck in are great attributes and that’s why I said he tried hard. I didn’t see any decent progressive passes. He was on as a striker and in that essential role that he has in the team - he offered absolutely no threat. He wasn’t good.

If amartey gave away a pen tonight and everyone blamed him would this thread exist?  I wonder

We will never know as it didnt happen, but I can say  it has frustrated me for a while, I remember Fuchs getting laid into because of one mistake in a game, Kasper got laid into almost every week, the Vardy pile in also annoyed me, same with the amount of times Albrighton has been blamed as well.

The timing of this post is pretty horrific, considering in 4 out of the last 6 games we’ve had players making monumental screw ups…

Everton - Castagne giving stupid peno away and Madders with pathetic penalty.

Wolves - Youri dispossessed 25 yards out and concede a goal.

Bournemouth - Maddison suicidal back pass for their goal, only goal of the game.

Villa - KDH silly red card at 1-1, we then go on to lose late on.

Players absolutely deserve to get slated for school boy errors, and our little boys are messing up royally in more games than not. Weak mentality, from some who are apparently considered ‘leaders’.

Its a good job you not our manager then, that would be a rapid way to destroy confidence.

And he’s single handedly won us multiple games this season. Short memories…

100% 👏🏻👏🏻

He ‘should’ be dragging us out of the mire, not cementing us in it.

Its the same week on week out, and its so boring. The amount of posts i skip in the match thread each week far out-weighs the ones i read. Players are human and make mistakes and i dont have a problem with them being slated for it. But its so one sided, slate them when they bad but ffs post something positive when they do something good.

Focus on kasper, forget the negativity :)

My opinion on this Madders penalty debate - firstly no question about it. Our talisman Vards has completely bottled it. He should be grabbing that ball off anyone else that tries to take it. Then if he doesn't the captain has to step in and take ownership. It was a case of madders saying 'OK if no one else wants it I'll take it' which is never a good thing. OK BUT once he said he'll take it. In a match like this, stick it in the corner. Don't try to be clever. Just tw4t the ball in the corner. And if its saved then fair play. That was a poor penalty as you will ever see.

Now the rest of it. Yes he takes too many touches, sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. When you're in a dog fight like we are, it's simple play that needs to be done. The other team are fighting hard for the ball. They'll crowd you if you hold the ball too long and that's what happened every time. He didn't learn.

Smith afterwards said that the penalty taker, Madders, had been predetermined (it would have been Iheanacho in the previous match). Therefore, whilst I believe Vardy should be taking penalties, on this occasion he was merely following orders. However good Madders may be, he's always had a powder puff shot on him. If Vardy fails to score it's probably gone over the top with venom.

I have observed, if a player e.g. has a good night but makes one mistake, everyone tends to concentrate on that, blame the individual for losses etc.

Personally I have never understood that mentality, we win and lose as a team, and I think Maddison had a very good game.

In most games all players will make mistakes but they get overlooked when the team wins.

I have seen it with other players as well, people concentrating on single mistakes and ignoring the rest of the performance.

Maddison had a good game? he was terrible tried to make it all about him. Should of passed it 3 times for others to take a shot but tried to do it on his own. Also missed the peno that would of probably won us the game.

I bet if I asked you what were his good moments you wouldnt be able to answer.  Focusing on the negatives.
