Not picking a defensive shield in midfield just a sloppy carefree passer in Youri (2023 model) and someone who can't be ar**d to track in Soumare. No protection at all. Everton had so much space around the edge of the box, we've had a week to think about it but rinse and repeat today.

Mismanagement by the board, the terminal decline under Rodgers and players who are either a) nowhere near good enough or b) don't give a shit are the reason why we are where we are - we're just now seeing the extent of the damage done. 

 

We will get battered by Liverpool and Newcastle, and probably by West Ham as well, so our literal only hope is to preserve that goal difference and hope by some miracle that two out of three of our rivals are shitter than us. 

 

If we stay up, I'm putting £50 on us to finish 20th next season.

Dont ever start a Premier League game without a defensive midfielder again. We have one of the worst defences in the Country and it needs all the protection it can get. There isnt one top team in the world that plays football without a defensive midfielder, most have two. Completley and utterly reckless. Then to go in the second half without addressing it was absolutley criminal. Complete and utter negligence from Smith. We need midfielders with energy who will track runners and fat boy Tielemans and Soumare arent going to do that. Get Mendy back involved asap
