Had a couple of hours to play on this last night and didn't disappoint. I was messing about flying my ship around asteroids and what not when I found a floating space station, tried to hail them but got no answer as I got closer and closer, managed to dock on and then entered and it was really eerie, quiet and dark with zero gravity so everything was just floating about. Then I found a few dead people floating about, it was like something out of a film. Eventually as I got around the station I found a group of robbers - took a while to clear them out because of the zero gravity which took a while to get to grips with but I was properly immersed in it. Reminded me of playing Alien Trilogy when I was a kid.

If it’s the abandoned casino, you might fancy going back there for a bit more of the explores 😉

Feels like the OST for this game has gone a bit under the radar.

Absolutely stunning score throughout the game. It's perfect tonally and just sounds absolutely amazing, especially on a decent pair of headphones.

Had a bit of an annoying bug last night, stole a few things and ended up with a bounty of about $175

Once I left the planet I was on, every time I went into the orbit of another planet the Freestar Collective would show up, hail me which I would accept, but it wouldn’t do anything or work and they would then just start blasting my ship (didn’t want to fight back to make my bounty worse)

Had to keep grav jumping between systems to stay alive, found a space station with a trade authority where I could exploit the game to keep my stolen stuff and it no longer be marked as stolen

Finally managed to get a hail to work to pay off the bounty and because of the exploit keep my stolen items

Was a rather annoying 30 minutes or so though trying to sort it out

Other than that though having a lot of fun just doing side quests! Only got to the point in the main quest where Sarah joins your team before going off track lol

Also came across the secret quest and now have the Mantis armour and ship!

Zelda and Baldur's Gate 3 for me, probably the latter.  This will probably consume most of my time though as so much to do.

On Metacritic both average 96.  Quite possible.  I'd expect Spiderman 2 to be up there also with what there is left of 2023.  Probably won't hit 96 but I'd expect at least 87...

How's the lock picking going?  All I ever see on gameplay videos are concentric rings.

How is the actual flying, coming at it from as an Elite Dangerous player?

its not elite dangerous. combat is much closer to no mans sky, travelling itself is done with loading screens, you jump to a system, and then pick a planet where a mission or location is, and select travel and its give you another cut scene, it works really well though, basically cutting out the boring parts of space flight. once you have visited somewhere though you can literally plan a jump from the ground in one place and be teleported to the ground far far away on another planet, which im not a fan of but you can still choose to fly it yourself. as much as the game allows anyway. you get random encounters with other ship as well in space, usually when you arrive at the destination. it is fallout /mass effect/ no mans sky but it is a bethesda game first, expect all the usual stuff from them. if you like skyrim/fallout you will enjoy this just dont expect no mans skyrim or ED, because it isnt that.

There’s this guy spending his entire time going around and putting bins and boxes over people’s heads

Unfortunately doesn't work like it did in Skyrim, and you can't just pop a bucket on an NPC's head and go around robbing them.

For that reason this game is restricted to a 5/10.

Never a truer word in jest sadly.

Aching to get home and have a play.

It's weird for a Bethesda game that I don't want to just follow one faction storyline at a time. I'm really enjoying the disparate nature of it.

Yeah, it's amazing how immersed I am in it.

I'm in London today and none of the NPCs will talk to me, let alone give me a quest. :(

I really wish they had a transmog system

I'm very much an immersive player and can't just strut around the gameworld dressed like Dental Nurse Power Ranger, despite the perks.

Bog standard armor for me. That shit can stay on a mannequin.

Its stolen me away from BG3 which is impressive and a great shame.

Who'd have thought that you could give me a great spaceship, an almost infinite universe and I'd still spend my time delivering packages and turning off electrical points in an underworld city like all open world type games have.

I refuse to read up about it, since I like to discover myself, but I have one question - can you lock yourself out of content? Is there an issue with choosing one faction and then doing another? I don't seem capable of saying no to an epic quest (or mundane delivery mission)?
