Anybody who genuinely believes Rodgers should've stayed. Sacking him was a mistake I agree - it should've come at least a year sooner. We may have then been able to patch over Rudkin's failings for a bit longer.

I'd say the vast majority of the criticisms on here over the season turned out correct. Certainly more on the ball than the club were anyway. Which is damning.

We sacked Rodgers and we're arguably even worse than we were so unfortunately it's inevitable that people will say his sacking was a mistake.

Are we worse though? When he was sacked we conceded 30 shots to Crystal palace and had picked up 1 point from the last 6 games. From our 6 games under Smith we've picked up 5 points, which is still relegation form but undeniably better. 

 

Realistically he had to go, sadly Smith doesnt seem very good either.

One lazy take I've seen on our situation is "it's what happens when you sell your best players". Clubs our size have to sell players. I would actually argue that not selling players, particularly in the summer of 2021 contributed greatly to our downfall.
