One of my friends who had analysed this far more than me says that the extent of our wrongs, financially were around 4 to 5 times higher than Evertons. I understand Everton got 6 so assumed 9 would be minimum. Good point re Sky and PL though if they make it a joke the season has little drama.

9 is the punishment for administration. if your punishment for overspending is more than that for going into admin it makes a mockery of the point of curbing that spending. if the PL have any sense, and i accept thats a big if, 8 would be the absolute maximum

They tried to deduct 17 points from Everton in total which ended up being 8 overall. 12 for the first case but the independent panel gave them 10, which was reduced to 6 on appeal for mitigation. Then demanded 5 points for the second case, which ended up being just 2. With Forest they tried to deduct 6 points, which ended up as 4 thanks to de Marco, which they've appealed and should be hearing about any time soon.

This was in the report from the second Everton deduction:

In this case, we have read and considered with care the parties’ submissions in this respect, set out above at paragraph 159 above and not repeated here. In our view, many if not most of the criticisms levelled against the Club in this respect by the PL are unwarranted, overstated, or both. In our view, the Club has indeed cooperated with the PL in the presentation of these proceedings according to the Standard Directions (to which the Club consented from the outset) albeit in a manner that protected (quite properly) the interests of the Club.

Couple that with how they've behaved with us - 1. trying to fast track our case when those rules came in this season and didn't apply to us as we weren't in their league; 2. trying to hand down the deduction to the EFL so that we get a points deduction this season, which again, is not in their rules and they can't actually do it; 3. sharing confidential club information with the EFL which is against the law.

I think they'll try and give us the maximum possible but we'll end up with less than 6 from the panel, which we'll appeal and get reduced again. If they hadn't repeatedly broken their own rules I think the club might have just held their hands up and accepted the punishment. But we're on the warpath now. We'll challenge every single thing the Premier League tries to do against us from now on. And I think we'll win.

Thank you bit more understanding

A lot of clubs are in a mess so I’m excited for us to step into a league like that. Can see a decent finish despite points deductions

This has made me feel a lot more positive since leaving hospital. I was given the impression it will be 9 absolute minimum, I hope what I’m reading is right 👍

I’m expecting a minimum of 6, a maximum of 8.

The club have to be confident of survival with the points deduction. We’ll know how bad it is if we sell KDH.

This was the impression given to me, though rather worse. That’s why I asked when do we know, because the KDH decision will hang on it.

Is Moyes “style of play” really that bad?

They’ve scored more goals than “free flowing” Brighton this season… and Man Utd. Only scored 2 less than us the season they finished ahead of us as well (21-22)

Sorry to hear you were in hospital and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Moyes is a very good manager for a club of our size, his work at Everton and West Ham proves that. Like any manager, he has a shelf life but IF we were in the market this summer, he should be top of that list IF he was interested.

Yep, I don't watch too many live games that are not ours but the way the Spanners fans cry about him you would think its hoofball - I've never seen that.

For me, style aside, better manager than Bodgers who we bet out house on

It won’t help that West Ham fans think they’re the biggest club in England outside “the big 6”.

how come?

Because prem accounts have to be in in December now not the following year. So unless we sell a huge value of players by the June deadline we will still be over our 3 year target.

If Forest get points back on appeal, especially given they only got a 4 point deduction initially, we can probably revise this as well. It would be easy for us to argue against a 7 or 8 point deduction if Forest only got 3 and Everton 8 across two combined deductions. I reckon 5 or 6 as things stand, and 3-5 if Forest get points back. Survivable with some of the sides in the PL.

Yep. Everton have survived very comfortably despite an 8 point deduction and real instability behind the scenes, and aren't exactly Real Madrid themselves.

I doubt it, he doesn’t play the football King Power want. He should be though.

My father in law really doesn't like him but says he can't argue with the results he gets them, plus a European trophy.

I agree with the sentiment but if you're presenting Ten Hag's Man United and Brendan Rodger's 21/22 Leicester as sides West Ham are more exciting to watch than, it might mean they're a bit flat.

Moyes is getting out at the right time, very good in Europe but their league form over two years is average and he's got a very decent squad. Reputation won't be damaged.

They sold rice last year, likely will sell paqueta this summer - both who made their midfield tick. Would imagine Kudus and Bowen will be other club lists as well.

They were toying with relegation last season with Rice.

Can’t argue with someone not liking their manager despite perceived success, well I could before Brendan.

They clearly prioritised the Conference league though, which paid off.

Over the course of a 38 game season , I’m not having that. They were right in the mix for quite some time, with some pretty decent players.
