We just have take care of our own business tomorrow against Rotherham. Not sure anyone below southampton can realistically be called a threat anymore. west brom are closer to relegation than to us! 5
Tuna Posted 22 December 2023 Posted 22 December 2023 (edited) Preston have really started to struggle lately. Edited 22 December 2023 by Tuna 1

While I agree, You can never say never in football. I seem to remember us going on a lte surging run to the playoffs in ONeills time I think it was. Anyone of the top 10 dropping points is a bonus.

It's a bonus, but 19 points means they'd have to win 7 games more than us with the same number of draws. I just don't see us losing 7 games, even if west brom or hull miraculously won every game they play from now until the end of the season 3
Finnegan Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Ipswich and Leicester wins today please. Extra bonus if QPR steal a point or three. Come on Santa. 3
Reg Vardy Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 We have the bottom 4 to play at home in our remaining fixtures, starting today…..assuming we should win those, we would need 8 wins from 20 fixtures to achieve 90 points…..starts today….c’mon…. 1
Nolucklcfc Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Ipswich win or preferably draw would be ideal
Nolucklcfc Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Hopefully the club put the Ipswich game on in the concourse and not the prem 😅
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Still think I want Leeds to win this. Ipswich 6 points (hopefully!) off the top and been done twice by Leeds and they might start to wobble. Bring me the 8th title. 3
Aus Fox Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 (edited) Draw Ipswich win Leeds win in that order of preference, in reality there is no bad result for us, but it would be nice for both teams to drop points. Edited 23 December 2023 by Aus Fox 4
coolhandfox Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Don't really care. Take care of our own business in the next 24 games it will not matter what other clubs do. 1
goose2010 Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Ipswich are 3/1 to beat Leeds, seems massive odds. Rotherham being 20/1 to beat us is crazy too.
ftfagos Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Given our performance against Yorkshire teams 20/1 is worth a nibble. True odds in a two horse race should be nowhere near that.

JimJams Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Take the positives whatever the result. Ipswich win and there's a bigger gap to be made to Leeds. Draw and we can create a bigger gap to both. Leeds win and we can create a bigger gap to 2nd. And while that's seen as the less favourable outcome by many, I think that's because they've forgotten about Saints, who could keep the gap to 3rd the same regardless of the Leeds/Ipswich result if they pick up a win for themselves. 1

Fair enough. If we’re top of the tree with 61 pts at the halfway mark I think we can be prettt confident, though 1
Noahfence Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 I’m just glad we’re able to watch this massive game with not much care either way!

sm1 Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Win win situation for us, either both or one of Leeds and Ipswich will drop points.
Noahfence Posted 23 December 2023 Posted 23 December 2023 Farke doesn’t like rotating does he? Guess todays game is probably a poor example to pick but barely changes the team

I’m usually the biggest pragmatist going when it comes to these type of conversations, but I really think that it’s 2 from 4 now in terms of automatic promotion. For a team 5-10 to get automatic promotion they’d have to rely on not one team’s form collapsing, but four. I don’t think that’s going happen. If our form dropped to the extent that, say, West Brom caught us then I think they’d actually be the least of our problems. As it’s likely there would already be another 2 to 3 teams ahead of us. These things are always interesting for added security, but ultimately the only form that matters is our own 3
