One of the main reasons for me joining the movement in joining the Foxes Trust is to challenge the club on the disconnect between championing and promoting our academy at our flagship training ground. The coverage this season even of the U21s has been shocking.

Whatever division we’re in I hope we put some faith in these players with more spots on the bench. If we’re financially ****ed as they say we are I don’t expect too many signings and hopefully some departures from some of the players out of favour. A true reset finally

Alves lucked central to everything in that game. Seemed to show real maturity and created chances for team mates rather than just aimlessly going alone; can see why Petty wants to keep him fresh for the first team as he genuinely looks likes a great option to have to swap with KDH or Ndidi

Two similar goals from non clipped balls into the box. It’s exactly what would work better in Enzo’s philosophy. Quick play driving into the box is frustratingly what we need more of.

Interesting, Silko Thomas has had a far more effective PL2 season than him and we also have Maswanhise. At 21 you'd think any signing would be for the 1st team.

Think if he was fit enough throughout the season he would have been perfect understudy to Winks. Allowed Winks a few more rests too.

Leicester City winger Amani Richards has emerged on the radar of Sunderland, according to a report by the Chronicle Live.
Leicester City have a decision to make regarding the future of the youngster this summer.

 

Richards, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and is due to become available.

As per the ChronicleLive, the Black Cats are interested in him along with some unnamed clubs in Holland, Belgium and Denmark. Newcastle United are also said to be have been admirers of him in the past.

Sunderland have a big few months ahead as they prepare for another campaign in the Championship.

They could see Richards as a long-term option for them in attack as they plot potential acquisitions.

The teenager has been on the books at Leicester City since January and has since been a key player for their development squad.

He has made 20 appearances in all competitions for their Under-21’s this term and has chipped in with three goals and five assists.

However, he hasn’t featured at all for the first-team under Enzo Maresca as they battle it out with the likes of Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Southampton for promotion to the Premier League.

Leaving the King Power Stadium would be a sensible decision as it would boost his chances of getting some senior game time. He is down the pecking order with the Foxes right now and his opportunities would be even more limited if they end up going up to the Premier League.

A switch to a club like Sunderland could work wonders for him as the North East outfit are no strangers to giving young players the chance to shine.

Richards was on the books of the academies at Chelsea and Arsenal before switching to Leicester City.

His situation is up in the air right now with the Black Cats linked with a move. They are in action this weekend at home to Millwall as they look to keep their recent unbeaten run of fixtures going.

Strange we would’ve only given him a 2.5 year contract (well I guess not that strange when you consider how much of a mess we are with contracts etc.)

Since he's under 21, would we get some compensation? So hopefully not a complete write off, unlike Mendy, Youri, Soyuncu, Perez etc etc etc.

 

Although was that dependent on having offered him a new deal? Good job we aren't under an embargo that would prevent us doing that.....oh.

Another we don’t know what we’re doing example. Probably lose money on a player we could have sold, Sunderland do well at snapping up youngsters to progress then sell. If we go up then I doubt Enzo would ever give him a chance and if we stay down it be insane not to extend. But I assume from his lack of game time he will be out the door. He scored against them a few weeks back.

There was that unusual Mirror article that was written by their deputy editor Darren Lewis that he was set to be in the 1st team this season and then he wasn't seen in pre-season with the 1st team once, nor during the season from what I recall.

 

I wondered at the time if it was agent talk and Lewis is close to either party, as was odd that a journalist that high up at the Mirror would be involved in such a story.

We picked up Kane from a division 8 team just a year and half ago and in this short time he’s impressed us and Leicester City with his development and he’s dedication, he’ll be a huge miss for our team, but we wish him all the best on his journey. We at Aylestone Park have not only produced 15 players that have joined Professional Clubs we have created a pathway into senior football with over 8 U18s players playing at first team level over the last 2 seasons.

Aylestone Park are simply the best at producing talented footballers.
