Hopefully cooper has realised he’s costing us a minimum of a goal a game and will be permanently dropped. Even with the stinker Ricardo offered up last weekend, I’m very confident once he shakes the rust off he won’t cost us as many goals as Justin has.

I like JJ but I’m considering going back through every goal we’ve conceded this season and counting the number of mistakes he made or times he was easily beaten in the lead up.

If we do use the Enzo tactics again

Faes Vestergaard Okoli

       Ricardo Winks

I'd worry about a big CB like Okoli being dribbled at by a small, tricky winger like Hutchinson but, given JJ's form, it's probably worth a try.

It's not like Okoli lacks athleticism tbf.

Was it my imagination or did Enzo play a game last season where Faes was effectively the LB when we were defending in this formation?

I can't remember the game and I might have got it wrong, but I seem to remember Faes doing ok. As long as they don't have to be the overlapping full back in the traditional sense I think both Okoli and Faes are capable of this role

He's fast and strong but is he agile enough? Either way, it might be worth trying given the alternatives.

I just think JJ is desperately in need of a game or two break to hit the factory reset.

He's an excellent player and seems a good character but he's just snowballing a bit from mistake to mistake at the moment.

I think as a rotation option he could still be okay but it is extremely baffling that he is a nailed on starter given we can see how much is coming down his side constantly.

It's quite sad that without injury you could quite easily have seen him playing for England regularly. Now he's probably a good championship level player at best that's being constantly exposed at this level.

I would have Faes at the left back for this reason. I thought he played well there at the back end of last season. Gives him a bit more freedom for his muppetry as well.

JJ is absolutely struggling and it’s obvious to see. Opposition teams are watching our games and pointing this area out to their strikers. Cooper has to pull him out for a while. No idea who to put back there - maybe Ricardo? Gotta do something as it’s getting rediculous every game

Nah, Faes was awful when he was on the left. Think it was Bristol City away but not 100% sure on that. There was another games too where he looked uncomfortable. Even for Faes that is some doing.

Just rewatched all the goals we have conceded this season and I know it's subjective but I think JJ has been at fault for at least 50% of them or could have at least done better to prevent them whether it's blocking a crossing, putting a tackle in or just not stupidly pushing up to a player like he did against Fulham to leave Iwobi in acres of space.

I've classed the Palace one as technically his mistake as he played Mateta onside that's why there is the asterisk.

I'd be interested to know how many of those that were the fault of Justin were due to him being out of position or chasing back? Not that I expect you to re-watch again :D

There can be no coincidence that Justin been asked to play the advanced fullback role in most of the games this season and most goals are then conceded down his side of the pitch. Yet, I always feel like he's dribbled past so easily and the defending for the first Forest goal (when he was left back), would suggest that it can't just be the positioning on the pitch.

Sadly he still has the same weaknesses he had when he was at his "best." Unfortunately for him he has lost that explosiveness, despite being our quickest player so far this season. That was a key component to his excellent form pre injury.

In his defence it seems that other teams double up on our wingers to good effect  but JJ seems to be left one on one regularly.

You’d expect a good player to win their fair share of 1 on 1s though right?

I think he does win a fair share but it only takes one duel to be lost and it could lead to a goal. That's why a lot of teams double up on quick wingers. Forest doubled up well imo.

Around 50% of the goals this season have come down his side or from his errors, I’m not sure I agree.

Fair enough. I'll guess we'll see what happens if and when he isn't in the team.

Does that mean he is half-decent? :dunno:

I've just watched the goals from last night and I don't think he is directly responsible for any of them.

1 no marking inside him

2 Offside

3 CB not clearing the ball

4 Deflection

5 Poor back pass by Okoli

He has made mistakes this season yes, but lets not put every goal down to him.  We need to get behind some very talented players we have at this club.
