I keep banging on about this but it's zero standards from the top. Everyone's got a free reign to take the piss. Faes sums it up to me - supposedly in tears of happiness when he joined the club yet has somehow simultaneously managed to both be crap for two and a half years yet legitimise the idea he's above us.

There's zero respect for this club from virtually anyone at it. The owner, the directors, and in turn, the players, managers, fans etc... just a total depressing mess.

Thanks for the cheerful 😊  message.

But unfortunately all true

We lack the spine of the team genuinely caring. We had identity with years of Kasper, Morgan, Vardy etc. Its all gone.

This one might belong in the unpopular opinions thread but I don't think Vardy helps at times either. He certainly doesn't have the leadership of a captain, and I feel like he has just as much a chip on his shoulder as anyone when we have a right to complain about the team.

Vardy is a bit of an elephant in the room here I think because he's been a part of this decline too - a decline where the squad has had very questionable mentality. Not blaming him as such but I agree that he isn't really a leader.

I'll unretire for a low weekly wage of £10,000 per week. 2.5 year contract.

Stick another 0 on that and Rudders might sanction it...

Ruud van Nistelrooy launches staunch defence of Conor Coady over Wolves transfer deal
The Leicester City centre-back was linked with a swap deal on transfer deadline day, one that would have seen him return to Molineux and Craig Dawson come the other way

Ruud van Nistelrooy has categorically denied suggestions that Conor Coady was keen to leave Leicester City to join relegation rivals Wolves, the manager launching a staunch defence of his centre-back.

Reports emerged on deadline day of a potential swap deal between City and Wolves, with Coady heading back to his former club and Craig Dawson arriving at the King Power Stadium. After the deal broke down and the transfer window closed, there were then further reports that Coady was particularly keen to return to Molineux.

But van Nistelrooy has stressed he has no concerns over Coady’s loyalty to City, where he has a contract until summer 2026. He added that it was “unthinkable” to let him leave.

Asked if he had any doubts over Coady’s commitment, van Nistelrooy said: “Zero. I didn’t hear anything from his side where he asked to leave. That is totally not true. If that is what is being said, it’s not true.

“He is a big part in this squad. He’s one of our leaders. He’s such a character that when he doesn’t play, he’s still that leader, he’s still helping the team, coaching the team, talking to players, pushing everybody to their highest levels in training sessions. For me it was unthinkable for him to go. But from his side, there were no signs he wanted to leave.”

Coady started van Nistelrooy’s first eight matches in charge, his longest run in the City line-up, even captaining the side at Liverpool on Boxing Day. However, he was dropped for the 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, with Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard the preferred centre-back pairing since then.

To be honest, if you were coady, why would you want to leave a big fat wage that he’s currently sitting on? Don’t think he was that arsed about going to wolves as some make out and what was reported.

Of course not but why not make it into a massive drama? Not like we haven't got a million other things to (rightfully) whinge about.

Sure he's a nice enough guy off the pitch, but on it i detest the guy.

Even in his pomp at Wolves I thought - at the absolute best - he was limited af.

His lack of ability is absolute poison on the pitch. All mouth and no trousers personified.

He was never great in the centre of a 3 though was he?

And really looking at when we picked him up and where he'd been for the year previous to that, he wasn't exactly wanted at either Wolves or Everton, we got him for the Championship and then barely played down there.

Very nice bloke. Got his media career going too now, can't say if that's a distraction or not personally.

For the pen there it's hammered straight at his arm, don't think there's much he can do. A pen and unfortunate but don't think it's a yellow card.

Tbh, bar Ricky... all our senior defenders are completely bang average.

Not one of them will come out of this season with any credit at all. Dreadful performances.

If him starting means Faes is benched, I'll take that. Haven't looked like winning since Faes got his place back. Rather a limited ability Coady than a total liability Faes.

Like so many in the squad, who takes him on his wages?

Nobody. But we but the bullet like we should've done years ago with Ward..

Call him in the office in June. Tell him we've fcked up. Well honour his contract but he's no longer available to the manager. He can use the facilities at Belvoir Drive (not Seagrave) to keep himself fit. And Vesty. And Ayew. And BdcR.

Opinion, but disagree.

I think Faes is better. He has some financial value to us. And, he's more our player, for all his faults, than Coady will ever be. Coady don't belong here.

He needs to be gone by pre season. Everything that is wrong with LCFC of recent. Ever the more frustrating as it was obviously from day 1 this was a terrible move. Huge wages, on the decline, clearly here for the last big pay day.

Under Nuno he was yeah. Limited but extremely effective. The two players either side make a big difference because then all he has to do is read the game and mop up behind them.

Boly and Saiss were beasts next to him so he had very little to do.

Faes and Vestegaard just don't cut it.

Another interview done for our central podcaster. What a season he’s having

In fairness, what he’s said is spot on and has indirectly criticised the club.

Fair play then haven’t actually listened as I’m so fed up of hearing from our players haha

Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s gone in the summer. Which for all the stick he gets for his media stuff, we do need someone like him around. He’s always spoke well, and contrary to belief will be good for the younger players.

Agreed.

Contrary to popular belief, if we bin off Vesty and Faes, plus lose a couple more of our more experienced campaigners like Winks, Ndidi and possibly even Vards then we will need some experience and leadership to help and guide the younger players.

I do understand why he rubs some of our fanbase up the wrong way with constantly being in the media, I suppose the counter argument is at least he is visible and prepared to front up unlike so many others at the club.

I am non plussed if he stays or goes, too be honest.
