Say what you want about him but he had a great song

If I lay here

If I jus lay here

Would you lie with me

And just forget the world

Remember the kop belting this out at home to Fulham in the 2020/21 season. Spine tingling.

Played the majority of games and was very good in our second most successful season ever. It'd be like expecting people not to mention Kante.

Ok, maybe he should be in the 'ex-players' topic at best.

He was never as popular as Kante (in our most successful season:ph34r:) by any stretch & his attitude stank when he wanted out.

40,000 hearty souls in that end with their scarves up for the boys. We need to bring that chant back for a current player

That's not the literal translation of Schadenfreude. Shame is Scham/schämen, which isn't the same as Schaden (damage).

I stand corrected.

I honestly don’t care he left, he got us a tone of money (sadly we didn’t spend well) and played really well for us.

sad to see he keeps getting injured, might need to pack it in or go off to Saudi league and hopefully play less and have less pressure

Given his injury record, it can't be long before we're in for him; although probably a bit close to his prime. Give it a few years I suppose.

A friend of a friend won an "all access tour" thing of the Chelsea training ground.

When he met Fofana and told him he's a Leicester supporter, apparently his face lit up and he said how much he loved his time at the club.

Can't begrudge him the big move. Would be like us staying loyal to St Etienne when Marseille made an offer.

That and he probably knew his body was made of biscuits and the short career of a footballer would likely be even shorter for him.

I met him before the Preston friendly and he was superb with both my lad and me, you can’t begrudge any of our players moving to what are deemed elite clubs and let’s be honest we got a great fee for a player who was always likely to suffer with injuries after the horrific injury he received against Villarreal.

Cheers for that. Ironically, until about 3 seconds ago I thought the last word of the song was “words”

It's fine to be angry at him - there was an agreement he could move at the end of the season in exchange for a fabulous contract and signing in bonus. He acted like a right piece of work to get out of that.

We're fans of the club so that does stink to us. He's not.

It does reveal who he is as a person though. There are players who we know wouldn't treat us, or other clubs, like that. It's the knowledge that, inside, he's a bit of a disloyal shit that people are reacting to as much as anything. Your average person doesn't really like that type of behaviour be at it at the heights of premier League football or general life - people don't appreciate weasly behaviour. It's who he is.

What Tielemans did to this club was far worse than anything Fofana, Mahrez etc. did. While the other two may have forced a moved as they were advised to do, Tielemans gave up on us for over a year and then released a poxy video without any reference to the relegation he was a major part in. He is also no where near the quality of Fofana or Mahrez. Yet, when Tielemans returned, no where near as hostile as when Fofana returned.

I’m with you there. I really struggle with Tielemans as he was really the catalyst for what happened to us from a playing staff point of view.

That said, he literally scored the goal that won us the FA Cup.
