A goalkeeper like him is worth more than money ... we look at the guys we have had replacing Schmeichel... of course, I am terrified with Ward even on the bench. And what the name of that horrifying German that came in after we won the Premier League?

why? other than Kante, every single purchase they have made from us is either way above market value (Drinky, Fofana & Chilwell) or on par with what we could get (KDH). they even gave us £10m for a manager that most on here were calling to be sacked a few months earlier.

Mads will 100% be sold in the summer, and we'll get a much better price if Chelsea are involved in the running for him. Just got to hope they don't push for him in January but I can't see it happening.

Purely on principle.

We keep on developing players (& a manager as well in our case) for them to just come in and take them away because they’re a bigger club with more money to spend.

If it’s Hermansen leaving for £30m to a club like Spurs I’d much rather that than £35m to Chelsea.

Why? 4 of the top 6 goalkeepers are settled, Man City/Chelsea might not necessarily be interested in Hermansen (Jorgenson might develop in to number 1, then there are other goalkeepers on the market too) and he is under contract until 2028.

in a PSR world we have to sell to the highest bidder, if that's Chelsea its annoying but so be it

I actually think he'd give us a couple more years if things weren't lining up so perfectly for him at potential suiters.

The problem with goalkeepers is as soon as a number 1 position looks available, you have to go.

If he turns down Man City or Chelsea in the summer and they sign someone else, their door is shut, potentially forever.

You could even argue the GK positions at Bayern (Neuer coming to the end) and Barcelona (Ter Stegen under scrutiny and often injured)) are looking more available than usual too.

We should have a "no sell" policy to Chelsea now for the next decade. Whoever it is.

This is how we got ourselves into the shit before so nothing should be off the table. He’s got a price, and it should be the going rate for a young world class goalkeeper who is outstanding in most attributes, sell to whoever is willing to pay the most.

"1) Mads Hermansen (Leicester City): +4.7
Only one keeper has ever made more saves in a Premier League game than the 13 Hermansen managed against Arsenal. That was David de Gea against the Gunners in December 2017; the Foxes’ No. 1 was unfortunate that Mikel Arteta’s side are slightly better now. He settled into mid-table of this list through October/November but he made seven saves v West Ham as Leicester returned to winning ways. And then made another five v Brighton.

Along with Southampton, Leicester have conceded the most PSxG of any Premier League team this season but Hermansen is helping keep them out of the relegation zone."

Do not ****ing sell.

Chelsea have had first dibs on our best players for nearly 10 years. There will be plenty of suiters for Hermansen. We are not there as almost a feeder club for them so we need to dig our heels in. It's a different big clubs turn next time.

Could be argued that Brighton are more of a feeder club for Chelsea these days. Chelsea simply buy a lot of players. If they are willing to pay the money, then i don't see why we should stop selling to them.

We should hold out for Fofana levels of money.

We’ve seen with all those sales to Chelsea, City or United that the replacement isn’t anywhere near the standard. It becomes death by a thousand cuts. Death by a thousand expensive cuts as it then costs us a premium to replace whilst simultaneously taking a drop in levels

£40mill was apparently too rich for them in the Summer (not that they were necessarily averse to paying it, just couldn't for PSR) but with a year of PL experience and showcasing himself his value has got to go up another 50% at least.

Why? They have absurd amounts of cash and wildly over pay.

We've made an incredible amount of money selling Fofana, Drinkwater, Chilwell and KDH vastly over their values.

We're not the top club in the food chain, we've got to sell to someone and we aren't competing with Chelsea.

Enzo aside, I ****ing love Chelsea at the moment. They got us out of PSR mess we got ourselves in to and frankly I think Facundo and Bilal are an upgrade on KDH.

Hermansen is destined for bigger things than Leicester, if Chelsea want to give us a record fee for a keeper to make his exit more bearable for us then God bless them.

If we have to sell - Danny Ward is available..

He could have a choice of clubs. Liverpool, Man City, Man U all needing a keeper soon, not just Chelsea.

Plus, Danes tend to be a bit more open to overseas moves. PSG, Real etc might stump up money

I can't see a non-English club affording to him.

I think he's pretty much THE perfect Guardiola keeper but we don't know what Man City's short to mid-term future looks like or how long Ederson will stay, 31 isn't old for a keeper.

Chelsea are the club most likely to value Mads highly as long as Enzo is there although they're the club to have already spent the most on keepers lately.

I actually don't see perfect selling conditions for Hermansen anywhere quite yet really. Not in terms of us really milking someone's need for a massive fee.

Highest bidder or we are insane. If we are to progress as a club we need to sell unfortunately and recruit well to replace them in advance. I’d imagine we sign a keeper in Jan, if we hadn’t been so shambolic in the summer we would have then.

i don't see it at all. looks like an accident waiting to happen and makes easy saves look like hard saves.

Ok, I disagree. Have watched all their games and he’s been terrific in a struggling team with a very shaky defense. The stats tell the same story.

I'm not worried about losing him in January, I just don't think it will happen. The club (and Hermansen) will know there'll still be interest in the summer, probably with more parties sniffing around too regardless of which league we're in. I don't think he's one to kick up a fuss so I don't think he'll act a tit and the club simply can't afford to lose him – we are relegated if we sell him in January and for all their faults I think the higher ups at the club would/will recognise that.

Agree with this. No way we’ll sell him in January even if he wanted to go. Also, he’d only lower his own value by complaining enough to be benched until summer - and he really doesn’t seem like the type to do that either. Quite the opposite.

Obviously depends what league we're in next season but if we stay up, I'd be demanding £40m plus £5m add ons.......Championship £25m with £5m add ons.
